The Clinical Efficacy Of Intervertebral Foramen TESSYS Combined With Duhuo Jisheng Decoction In The Treatment Of LDH

Objective:To explore the clinical effect of transforaminal endoscopic spine system(TESSYS)combining with Duhuo Jisheng decoction in treating lumbar disc herniation(LDH).Methods:60 cases with single segmental LDH were divided into 2 groups randomly,and the 30 cases in treatment group were treated with TESSYS and Duhuo Jisheng decoction,while the 30 cases in control group were treated with TESSYS only.Then compare VAS and JO A scores of each group both before and after treating as well as the modified MacNab criteria and JOA improvement rate after operation for a month in both groups.Results:1.The modified MacNab criteria for clinical effect after operation for a month showed that in treatment group,the effects were excellent in 21 cases,good in 6 cases,fair in 4 cases,and poor in 1 case,according to modified MacNab criteria with the sum of excellent and good rate up to 90%,while in control group,the effects were excellent in 13 cases,good in 12 cases,fair in 2 cases,and poor in 3 cases,according to modified MacNab criteria with the sum of excellent and good rate up to 83.3%.The modified MacNab criteria showed significant difference(P<0.05)in general results but no significant difference(P>0.05)in excellent and good rate,meaning that after operation for a month,the excellent and good rate had no significant difference,but the treatment group had better efficacy than the control group.2.The results showed significant difference(P<0.05)comparing the VAS and JOA scores with patients in both groups before and after operation.The scores in both groups after operation for a week and a month showed statistic difference(P<0.05),meaning that the treating methods in both groups were effective,but the treatment group had better efficacy in releasing pain(decreasing VAS scores)and improving functions(increasing JOA scores)than control group.3.The JOA improvement rate in both groups after operation for a month showed that in treatment group,the cure rate was 13.3%,obviously effective rate 56.7%,effective rate 23.3%,summing up to the total effective rate 93.3%,while in control group,the cure rate was 6.7%,obviously effective rate 36.7%,effective rate 43.3%,summing up to the total effective rate 86.7%.The statistics showed that there were significant difference(P<0.05)in JOA improvement rate but no significant difference(P>0.05)in total effective rates,meaning that the total effective rates in both groups after operation for a month had no significant difference,but treatment group had better improvement than control group in JOA improvement rate in general.Conclusion:The clinical effect of treating LDH with TESSYS and Duhuo Jisheng decoction is better than treating with TESSYS only.The combination of Chinese traditional and Western medicine therapy has significant advantage in treating LDH.
