In people’s daily life, the address terms are often the first message to others. While the address terms as the important part of social address terms, they related to the social etiquette appropriate or not and they are also the important and difficult points for the overseas students to study.This passage can be divided into four parts. The first part is mainly introduce the origin and the significance of the study, the current situation and the trend of the study, the target and the method of the study. Otherwise, it also make a brief classify and analyze to the characteristic of social address terms. It states there are many ontology researches of the social address terms,but in the real progress of TCSL,the current state of research is still very weak.The second part is mainly make a brief introduction to the social address terms in the Oral Chinese series teaching material. According to the analyze to the organize of the social address terms in Oral Chinese and make comparison with the social address terms in other books, we find some problems in the teaching material of the morgen Chinese. There are problems such as the definition to the appellation is not clear, the classification to the appellation is not accurate, the teaching of appellation in the teaching material have no consistency and the most of the content in the teaching materiel are outdated. Besides, this part also make an objective evaluation to the Oral Chinese which I choose and also find both advantages and disadvantages of the book. The advantages are the similarity of the social appellation in the book with the grade classification in the outline and the diversity of the appearance form. The disadvantages are the unclearly introduction to the appellation and the lack of language material which focus on social appellation knowledge.The third part is mainly focus on the social appellation mastery situation of the overseas students by the questionnaire survey and find the actual requirements in the social appellation teaching from the overseas students. Then using the survey data to make errors analysis and summarize the reasons of the errors. There are the students reason and teachers and teaching material. The students are mainly influenced by the mother language, target language and the communication strategy. The teachers are mainly influenced by the linguistic proficiency of themselves and the limitation of the surroundings. The teaching materials are unsystematically and out of date.The last part offer teaching suggestions to the appellation teaching based on the questionnaire survey and the errors analysis before. The suggestions include the teaching and teaching material. About the teaching, the interpretation should be selectivity and teaching by stages to play the important role of culture. And also, in class the teacher should creat diversity environment. The teaching material should increase the appearance frequency of the social appellation and pay attention to the timeliness to the social appellation. I have made statistics to the individualization social appellation of the 21st century and I hope in this way can improve the study efficiency for the overseas students and promote the edit of the social appellation in the teaching material of the TCSL.
