As a poet in the frontiers between Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Vietnam who was heavily influenced by Han Nationality culture, LiShenchan represents the characteristic of Guangxi Zhuang poet in the Qing dynasty according to his poetry. His poetry is so special due to his unique national identity and a close relationship with the Vietnamese literati. Accordingly,This article is focused on the typicality and uniqueness of LiShenchan’s poetry. Under the background of literary ecology during the late Qing Dynasty and an active communication about literature between China and Vietnam, this article is trying to find out the organic connection between each other, so as to reveal the back of the dominant factor is the Han culture. This paper consists of four parts. The first chapter discusses LiShenchan’s life story and his writings. Combining text interpretation and on-the-spot investigation,we have an opportunity to restore the truth of his life and do a textual research on edition. The second chapter puts emphasis on the research of his life thoughts, poetic artistry and cognition, clarifying the relationship between his thoughts and the Taiping Rebellion as well as the relations between his poetry and Tongcheng School and Xingling school, which is used to prove that he was dominated by Confucian orthodoxy. Hence, we can explore the evolution orbit from Tongcheng school to Xingling school in his poetry, and correct the misunderstanding of scholars in the past. The third chapter is devoted to the excavation of the nationality, mainly from the Zhuang nationality’s culture of water,habit of singing and his Zhuzhi Poems, chanting poems to start,to reveal his inherent characteristics of Zhuang Nationality. Furthermore, we will try to explore the feature of fusion of Han and Zhuang culture embodied in his poems, thus affirming LiShenchan’deep significance in the history of Sino-Vietnamese cultural exchange.
