China is one of the countries which suffer the most severe earthquakes among the world.As the main form of earthquake disaster,deadly earthquakes cause damage to buildings and infrastructures of the city.To make anti-seismic and prevention of disaste plan and improve earthquake resistance capability from the aspects of “defending,avoiding,resisting,and rescuing”,is a strongly effective measure to mitigate the loss.When making decisions in urban earthquake disaster prevention,it is important to evaluate the seismic performance of engineering structures,including infrastructure and buildings.Methods contain group and monomer seismic performance evaluation.The latter is the basic part of earthquake disaster prevention in the city.Seismic damage prediction method of buildings include theoretical analysis method(non-linear static analysis method),semi-empirical and semi-theoretical method,and norm-based empirical formula method.Empirical formula is simple and practical,Though the empirical method is simple and practical,its result can not be so accurate.The theoretical method usually uses structural analysis software,so it can analyze and calculate the possible response of the building under the deadly earthquake precisely.While its disadvantages are high-workload and complicated calculation process.In the process of making anti-earthquake disaster plannings,it is not feasible to only use theoretical analysis method in urban seismic predictions.We mainly use semi-empirical and semi-theoretical method to predict the disaster.Based on the masonry structure and concrete frame structure of the monomer building earthquake damage prediction,for example,through the theoretical analysis and half experience and half theory method comparison,discovered more than ten years to build the reinforced concrete frame structure seismic damage prediction results of inconsistencies,theadjustment of the correction coefficient in the seismic damage index is studied.By the method of adjustment of half experience and half theory,a multi-story masonry for single building in the wenchuan earthquake prediction,compare forecast results with the actual damage,obtained the consistent conclusion.The research results show that the semi-empirical and semi-theoretical method is a more accurate earthquake damage prediction method.However,in the newly-built reinforced concrete frame structure housing in the recent ten years,the seismic damage correction factor should be increased appropriately.In the process of compiling the “Resist Earthquake and Disaster Prevention Plan ” of a certain city,the earthquake damage prediction of urban buildings was made using the research results.
