In the long-term development and evolution of thematic mapping technology,summing up the composition and characteristics of graphics had formed ten kinds of mapping methods.However,the existing methods and techniques of expressing statistical data are far from the requirements of data expression and people's need for spatial knowledge.We urgently need a more abundant visualization method of statistical data,which can help to understand the multiple types of statistical data in a full range of angles and to display the information and rules contained in it.Science and artistry are the two criteria for measuring visualization results.Although the statistical mapping function based on GIS is rich,the lack of size and color control in the chart makes the cartographic personnel fall into the tedious editing and revision work.In view of these problems,based on the study of the characteristic and functions of CorelDARW,the paper puts forward the design idea of the statistical data visualization system based on secondary development technology which builds a bridge between the statistical data and CorelDRAW.With the help of rich graphic generation and superior plan design functions,the system provides a powerful technical guarantee for "accurate data mapping and beautiful note color" in statistical data visualization.The article takes statistical data classification as a breakthrough point,leads to the selection principle of visualization method,analyze the influence of the quantity and type of index and logic relationship of the statistical data on the selection of visualization methods.This article has exploded traditional method of statistical data drawing and added the information chart,which enriches connotation of visual expression and freed thematic map from traditional mapping model,reached higher visual aesthetic requirements,provided fluency and multiple ways of data expression.On this basis,the flow and data shifts of each visualization method are elaborated,and key technologies are given.Finally,the author designs and implements a statistical data visualization system,applying the above research results to reality,realizing the flexible cartography and effective interactive cognitive function,and optimizes the design of the system interface.It can automatically complete data preprocessing and shift,graphic drawing,assistant elements.The system provides free symbol selection,area filling with color gradient,type and location of label.Through operation test,the system operation is simple and smooth.Data visualization effect can meet requirement of the expression of statistical data,and also meet scientific and artistic requirements of thematic mapping.
