A Spatial Econometric Study On Influencing Factors Of Agricultural Total Factor Productivity Change In Hainan Province

Hainan's agricultural resources have tropical characteristics and are rich in species resources,however,land resources in Hainan Province are limited,the scale of farmer households are small and the production efficiency is in low level,improving the agricultural total factor productivity(TFP)has became the main way to promote the long-term and healthy development of Hainan's agricultural economy.Therefore,how to improve the agricultural TFP is an urgent problem to be solved to promote the"quality-oriented" development of Hainan's agriculture.Based on the literature reviews,this paper measures the agricultural TFP in Hainan Province from 2005 to 2016 by the DEM-Malmquist index method.To analyze the change of agricultural TFP and the differences among regional agricultural TFP.Based on this,constructing the spatial econometric model to analyze the influence of different factors on agricultural TFP.Based on the study,the following conclusions can be drawn.(1)The agricultural TFP and technological progress in Hainan Province show an increasing trend from 2005 to 2016,the average annual growth rate of technical efficiency is negative.(2)It has differences in the growth rate of agricultural TFP among cities and counties in Hainan Province,some regions have convergence in the growth rate.(3)The agricultural TFP in Hainan Province are spatially related,and the spatial factor has the positive effect on agricultural TFP.(4)The per capita disposable income of rural residents has a positive relationship with the agricultural TFP in Hainan Province.Per capita investment in education,industrial restructuring and agricultural R&D play an important role in promoting agricultural TFP in cities,counties and adjacent areas.The total power of agricultural machinery and rural labor force are inversely related to the agricultural TFP.According to the research results,this paper makes suggestions for promoting the agricultural TFP and agricultural economy in Hainan Province from the aspects of utilizing spatial effects,optimizing agricultural industrial structure,and building facility agriculture and so on.
