With the wide application of white LED in daily life,the problem of color rendering of light sources has received much attention.At present,the indicator of color rendering in the lighting industry is still the color rendering index CRI,and the research on optimizing the color rendering of the light source is mostly carried out around the Ra index and the R9 index.Past research has shown that the color rendering index CRI does not fully and accurately characterize the color rendering ability of the light source.Most researchers believe that the two-measure system can more comprehensively evaluate the color rendering of light sources.The two-mearure system include color fidelity index(such as Ra,CRI2012,IES_Rf)and gamut area index(such as: GAI,CQS_Qg,IES_Rg).In this paper,in order to systematically increase the color gamut area of the light source and optimize the color quality of the light source,the numerical study of the gamut area of the light source was calculated by superimposing monochromatic light of different wavelengths on the light source to study the relationship between the spectrum of the light source and the color gamut area,The main research contents are as follows:1.The relationship between the GAI,Qg and Rg was analyzed.By calculating the GAI value,Qg value and Rg value of 48 light sources,the comparison analysis found that the correlation between Qg and Rg is relatively high,and the correlation between GAI and Qg or Rg is poor.The results also show that the color samples,color space and reference light source used in the gamut area calculation process have an impact on the calculated results.2.The effect of different monochromatic lights on the gamut area of the light source was studied.Monochromatic light of different wavelength is superimposed on 48 light sources to construct a new light source,and the gamut area value of the superposed new light source is calculated by using the Qg index and the Rg index.The calculation results show that the color gamut area Qg index of the light source would increase after the light source was superimposed with 520 nm-550 nm and 630 nm-680 nm mnochromatic light and the color gamut area Rg index of the light source would increase after the light source was superimposed with 400 nm-450 nm and 620 nm-680 nm mnochromatic light.3.A method of maintaining color temperature and systematically increasing the color gamut area of a light source was studied.According to the influence of different monochromatic light on the gamut area,the gamut area index Rg was selected to characterize the gamut area of the light source.In order to achieve the controllable color temperature of the light source and the adjustable color gamut area,two monochromatic lights of different central wavelengths with different amplitudes were superimposed on the light source.The center wavelength of the first monochromatic light is 420 nm,435 nm and 450 nm.The center wavelength of the second monochromatic light is 635 nm and 660 nm.The research results show that superimposing two different wavelengths of monochromatic light on the light source can achieve the purpose of controllable color temperature of the light source and adjustable color gamut area.4.The relationship between the size of the gamut of the light source and the color preference was studied.The source spectrum of the gamut area Rg of 95,100,110,115 and 120 was obtained from the previous experimental results.The visual experiment was designed to study the color of the objects under different gamut area illumination.The experimental results show that the color of the objects under the illumination of the light source gamut area index Rg of 110 is the most popular;the color of the objects illuminated by the light source gamut area index Rg of 120 is the most unloved.
