The compilation and design of thematic atlas is a complicated and complicated system engineering,during which the basic theory of atlas design,map database application method,thematic base map design and compilation method,general map compilation method and other basic theoretical methods should be applied.In this paper,the overall situation in Hebei province,the situation of Marine economy and the future planning and development,the characteristics of the Marine economy in Hebei province atlas project characteristics and requirements of atlas overall design method is studied in this project in the design of flexible use,the design conforms to the situation in Hebei province,can fully demonstrate the characteristics of the Marine economy in Hebei province content structure.On the basis of analyzing the characteristics of various thematic map data,this paper puts forward the classification and classification scheme of thematic element data according to the characteristics of Marine economy in Hebei province and implements it in the project.Based on the analysis of the basic geographic database,according to the requirements of the map and scale,combined with the characteristics of Hebei province,a comprehensive selection scheme is designed and applied in the project.Based on the analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of the published thematic maps and the advantages and characteristics of Hebei province,the design is updated and improved.On the basis of analyzing the characteristics and effects of different data structures,combining the actual situation and the needs of later use,a variety of graphic tables are designed,which not only make the atlas rich and beautiful,but also bear rich content information.The database of "Marine economy atlas of Hebei province" was established based on the mapping data,which provided technical support for the updating of map data,the full utilization of achievements and the development of derivative products such as electronic version.Through the above analysis and research process,follow the thematic atlas compiled by the scientific basis and basic principles of demand,using the map database,a variety of graphics software,combined with mapping theory and method of the Marine economy in Hebei province atlas compiled practice,using the image data in combination with the vector map expression,more intuitive to reflect field of coastal areas in Hebei province,using the statistical method to deal with project data,refer to the theory of cognitive science,the data indicators on the map representation method to carry on the innovation,form expression data clear,precise,outstanding characteristics and the characteristics of intuitive and easy to understand.Through thematic atlas and design practice,complete atlas data conform to the requirements of the internal use of map data,for the Marine economy in Hebei province atlas has provided the safeguard production,based on the set of data to create dynamic update of Marine economy in Hebei province database provides data support,provides a new reference for provincial thematic atlas compiled.
