Five axis CNC machine is based on the Three-axis by increase of two rotation axis,through which not only achieving the linear feed, but also the circumference of the feed atthe same time.And it also achieve the arbitrary control of the tool or workpiece position,which would always adjust the tool axis-line relative to the direction of the workpiecesurface and set to go tool path more flexible, then complex surfaces parts can be machined.However, the distance with surface curvature from the tool center coordinates and thecenter of the swing or center of rotation of five-axis machine will change with the changewhen machining complex surfaces, so the center point of the knife's feed rate should be avariable value in order to meet the constant power processing. But the feed speed in theNC code setting processed by the common software can not meet the actual feed rate ofthe tool center point. Therefore, the feed rate of the problem must be solved in thefive-axis machine post processor of development process, through which the five-axismachine of the bottleneck problem using can be really solved. This paper focused onoptimization of feed rate of five-axis machining is studied, and its main contents are asfollows:(1) From the structural characteristics of five-axis machine to start, different structures offive-axis machine's post-processing algorithms can be derived,and a perspective ofoptimization algorithm can be put forward according to the problem of limitedrotation of the actual machine rotary axes. And through the double swing five-axismachine verifies the correctness of this approach of angle optimization.(2) Two speed optimization algorithm based on machine rotary axes of optimizationmethod and axes speed limited optimization method are put forward according to a setof constant value for NC code speed in the five-axis linkage machining lead to thecenter point of the knife's feed rate changing problems. And the structure of themachine that had dual turntable and double swing with separately verifies NC codethrough optimized for speed, feed rate of its center point of the knife relative to bladesurface is smooth movement.(3) Dual turntable and double swing developed separately dedicated post-processingsoftware be builded based on the post-processing algorithms and feed rateoptimization algorithm by combine with high-level language Java according to thestructure of the five-axis machine; Taking a centrifugal impeller for experimentalartifacts using developed the multi-purpose dedicated post-processing software foreach step of the impeller blade's tool position source file for post-processing get theNC code that had optimized for speed, and finally the NC code was verified throughthe VERICUT simulation cutting and the actual processing.
