With the improvement of living standards,people consume more and more modern furniture,and because of being the connecting accessory,the concealed hinge has a great market demand as well.However,most existing domestic damping concealed hinge manufacturers’ assembling processes are still on the low-automation manual assembly stage,which leads to low efficiency,poor product consistency,and being prone to work accidents.Although the European advanced hinge industries have already mastered the totally automatic assembling techniques,the domestic hinge manufacturers have never introduced them because of super high cost.Therefore,designing an automatic assembling machine with high efficiency and stability for concealed hinge becomes more and more urgent.This paper takes the hydraulic buffer components in the concealed hinge(S788 model)as the research target,researching its assembling processes,planning its assembling processes for automation,and designing an automatic assembling machine under the guidance of modular design methodology.Firstly,the paper analyzes the domestic and foreign development status of the hinge assembling processes,the industrial robotic techniques,the virtual prototype techniques,and the modular design methodology,and confirms the designing details and research methods.Secondly,through field investigation,the paper introduces the manufacturing conditions of the hinge manufactures,and finally it develops automatic assembling processes that meet the requirement of automatic assembly.Based on the modular design methodology,this paper sets up a 3-dimension virtual prototype of the automatic assembling machine by SolidWorks software.The prototype is separated into seven functional modules and some other auxiliary facilities,and by linear layout,all the modules form an organic machine.And this paper does type selection and calculation for some typical structures,and uses ANSYS Workbench software to do dynamic and static characteristics analysis for the whole machine and the riveting module,and gets the machine’s first eight natural vibration frequencies as well as the weak part of the structure of the riveting module for optimization.Finally,make and debug the physical prototype and gets stable operating parameters.By doing assembly tests,the assembling efficiency of the prototype reaches 5seconds for each workpiece,which is approximately one third of the current manual operation,and highly overpasses the expectation.This paper’s work is of great significance to improve the assembling level of the buffer components in the damping concealed hinge,and thus promoting industry upgradation and enhancing market competitiveness.
