With the development of industry, more and more areas involve using requirements with high precision, high reliability and high quality, and this means that the machining precision and quality of machinery processing must be guaranteed, especially some key equipments in the aerospace, shipbuilding, automobile and rail transit. The production and processing of large parts is developing in the direction of high speed, high efficiency and high precision.Large CNC gantry machine is the main equipment to process large workpieces, and the precision of the machine tool directly affects the machining quality. Beam parts(beam, slide, spindle box) is the main bearing parts in the machine tool structure. Whether the static and dynamic performances of beam components meet the requirements is directly related to the machine’s accuracy. In this article, we will set up the beam components model and analyze the static and dynamic characteristics with the finite element method based on a fixed beam large CNC gantry machine tool which is on research in Han Chuan CNC machine tool CO., LTD. Main contents as follow:First of all, according to the physical size of CNC gantry machine tool to establish the 3 d modeling of beam, slide and spindle box with the proportion of 1:1 for subsequent analysis.Secondly, setting the corresponding material properties, dividing of grid, imposing constraints and loading in the finite element analysis software, to analyze static and modal characteristics under its weight and get the structure deformation, stress, natural frequency and modal vibration mode.Finally, we will do modal experiment with no working CNC gantry machine tool beam components to get the natural frequency and modal vibration mode in a real condition and verify the accuracy of the finite element analysis results.Through the calculation of this article,we can provide a theoretical basis to optimize the structure of the innovation and avoid resonance for the large CNC gantry machine tool.
