Automatic fiber placement(AFP)used dedicated CNC equipment to place tows on surfaces with compaction system.It implements the distribution of fiber direction and layout to achieve the requirements and make full use of materials performance.It has become typical processes for fabricating large composite material part with high-efficiency,high-quality,high-precision and high reliability,which is more difficult by manual.It has been widely used in the field of aerospace in developed countries,and the research of AFP has been explored actively in China.According to the characteristic of equipment and the process of auto fiber placement,the algorithm of fiber path planning based on multi-constraints and meshed surface is put forward in this paper.It also introduce the methods of visualization system of fiber placement using the OpenGL in VC++6.0 platform,verify the relevant research results in the laying process through the platform.In order to ensure that the fibers are placed on the core mold without wrinkle and avulsion.The main content of this paper include:The structure of core mold is designed and secondary reconstruction in the visualization system.The core mold is designed and drew using 3D software,and the model files from 3D software is exported to the general format(STL format,etc.)files.Then,using the OpenGL in VC++6.0 platform to realize the core mold import and reconstruction,Use of triangles to approximate core mold surface,Through the method,the complex questions of seeking path on free surface is transferred into questions of seeking continuous path on some triangle facets.The topological relationship between vertices,lines,triangles established in the system,which can provide data support for the follow-up calculate and placementThe research of fiber path planning algorithm.Taking the factors of geometrical shape,mechanical properties,fabrication procedure and manufacturing equipment into fiber path planning.And set up each constraint theories and numerical models,on the basis of the theories and models,the algorithm of adaptive path planning for automated placement on meshed surface is put forward.Overlap ratio is introduced to measure extend of fiber overlapping or separating.Coverage analysis in the process of fibers path planning can generate the solution of fiber clipping or retransmission,which is helpful to make the prepreg placed on the surface as required.Analysis of the motion of fiber placement.According to its function characteristics and structure relationship of AFP head to analysis the way of the each actuators and the equipment of the placement movement.Determines the movement form by analyzing its movement coordinate fiber placement requires.Using the OpenGL in VC++ platform to design visualization system.Its can meet requirements of a variety of molded surface and different parameters of placement,The system not only can realize reconstruction and display the mold and demonstrate entire planning process but also have a good man-machine interface.
