The flotation of molybdenite is commonly used tap water or recycled water as flotation medium and used kerosene and 2~#oil as flotation reagents.At present,molybdenite resources is faced with problems of poor,fine and complex.The existing reagents system shows poor adaptability to the ore properties which resulting in an increasing useage of reagents,so how to improve the beneficiation effects of molybdenite is an urgent problem to be solved.For tackling above problems,this paper introduces magnetized water as flotation medium of molybdenite,then the influences of magnetized water on the floatability of molybdnite are investigated by flotation experiments of single molybdnite and actual molybdnite.On this basis,the mechanism of magnetization modification on water and the flotability of molybdenite is studied by XPS,and the following results are obtained.The experiment of single mineral flotation indicates that the magnetized water could improve the recovery of molybdenite flotation while decrease the optimum dosages of collector and frother significantly,and that the increase extent of fine molybdenite is obviously more than that of coarse molybdenite.The results of the orthogonal test of molybdenite flotation reveal that the factors that influence the recovery of molybdenite from big to small is:demagnetization time,magnetization intensity and magnetization time.The interaction between magnetization intensity and magnetization time is not significant.The experiment of raw ores flotation shows that the magnetized water can obviously improve the index of rough selection,and the optimal condition for magnetization is that the magnetization intensity is 0.2 T and the magnetization time 20min.When the 0.074 mm content of grinding fineness is 65%,the slurry pH value is 8.4,the amount of kerosene and 2~#oil are 170 g/t and 90 g/t respectively.The obtained grade of molybdenite coarse concentrate is 3.63%,and the recovery is 83.73%.The molybdenite recovery increases 2.41 percent points after magnetizing treatment.The experiment on the adaptability of magnetized water to different ions shows that copper ion makes magnetized water to improve the flotability effect of molybdenite while iron ion and sodium silicate deteriorate that.The property of magnetized water improves molybdenite is highly adaptable to calcium ion,magnesium ion and sodium hexametaphosphate and sodium sulfide.The reason for improving flotation effect of molybdenite by magnetized water is that it can not only reduce the conductivity of the water and slurry and Zeta potential of molybdenite but also increase the contact angle of molybdenite,besides,the magnetized water can inhibit the oxidation reaction of molybdenite?edge?in water,while the Mo-O-S bond relative content of molybdenite surface is reduced 1.63%.Copper molybdate is generated by adsorption of copper ion on the molybdenite edge,covering the surface of molybdenite and inhibiting the molybdenite ion oxidation reaction of molybdenite.The adsorption of sodium ion on the molybdenite edge produces sodium molybdate and dissolves in water,the content of sodium molybdate in molybdenite decreases after magnetized water,which inhibits the oxidation reaction on the surface of molybdenite,resulting in a poor flotability.This paper has provided the methods for enhancing the flotability of molybdenite by magnetized water and fundamental research for the flotation of molybdenite.
