The northernsong dynasty was a transitional period from the warm period to the cold period, and the climate had an important influence on the vegetation changes in the Yellow River basin, butthe destruction of vegetation by human was more serious. At the beginning of the northern song dynasty,in order to build the capital of Kaifeng, timber was mined in the middle and upper reaches of the Yellow River. On the other hand, with the escalation of the conflict between song and xia,the northern song began a long-term large-scale farmland settlement in shaanxi, which lasted until the end of the northern song, resulting in the destruction of a large number of grassland.Thirdly,in response to the frequent river management and river cleaning in the middle and lower reaches, the vegetation in the Yellow River basin is also exploited and used in large quantities. From the perspective of ecology, all living and non-living systems are closely related to each other, influencing each other and depending on each other.Among them, forest, grassland and other vegetation systems not only play the key role of primary producer in the ecological system, but also play a key role in the whole natural material circulation and energy flow, and are at the core of protecting the natural ecological balance with their functions of water conservation, soil and water conservation, climate regulation, wind prevention and sand fixation. The large-scale destruction and consumption of forest, grassland and other vegetation resources in the northern song dynasty led to the serious deterioration of the ecosystem in the Yellow River basin and the continuous flood and drought disasters. The increase trend of these flood and drought disasters is highly consistent with the change of vegetation destruction degree of the Yellow River basin in the northern song dynasty: the later the northern song dynasty, the more flood and drought disasters, the more intensive the frequency, the rate of occurrence doubled, and the rate of increase of drought is much higher than that of flood. As a result, natural disasters such as floods and droughts in the Yellow River basin during the northern song dynasty were more frequent than those in the tang dynasty in terms of intensity and breadth. After the disaster, there will be a big epidemic. The drought and waterlogging caused the environmentaldeterioration and human health changes, and then caused the plague, which further aggravated the suffering of people in dire straits. At the same time, the bloody reality shows the serious consequences of the loss of vegetation. The frequent occurrence of serious natural disasters has prompted people of insight to pay constant attention to environmental problems and actively think and seek solutions. Therefore,in the northern song dynasty, people’s understanding of environmental problems was far ahead of people’s,which not only formed a deeper understanding, but also formulated many measures conducive to improving and protecting the benign development of the natural ecological environment according to the reality.Due to the limitations of The Times, although people’s understanding of environmental problems at that time could not be compared with modern systematic environmental protection theory,it played an objective role in increasing and protecting forest resources.Second, their Yin and Yang five lines of thought and is closely related to this world,to heaven with nature, with the middle way of dealing with the relationship between man and nature of ethical principles, such as highly fit with the modern system of environmental protection consciousness, not only promoted the sustainable development of ecological environment at the time, fortoday we also deal with the environment provides the beneficial reference.
