In modern communication systems,especially in mobile communication system,the base station antenna is an important wireless equipment that used for signal receiving and transmitting,it is also an important part of mobile wireless access system.The passive nonlinearities will cause PIM disturbing in microwave and RF frequencies communication systems,the metal connection in the base station antenna was supposed to an important material nonlinear.The PIM performance will influence the telecommunication quality deeply.the major antenna factories are all pay their attentions to eliminate the metal connection design,that caused the plastic push rivet was used into antenna design more and more popular.Operation always apply glue on plastic rivet for assuring the fixing reliability.But the process need mechanical designer to leave enough operation space in the antenna development,it restricts the antenna structure to compact.it is significant meaning to antenna structure design for developing a self-lock rivet and no need glue to assure reliability.The research and design of self-lock push rivet that no need to apply glue,with self-lock function,can be used in base station antenna,easy antenna structure design,replace the incoming is going necessarily.(1)The research and design of self-lock push rivet:According to the existing rivet structure and with the principle of equal strength,finalize the rod diameter of self-lock plastic rivet male part,get the weakness points from ANSYS simulation,including self-lock structure of female part,etc.;(2)The study of self-lock push rivet molding condition:Learn the process of precision injection molding and important parameters.Summarize the difficult points of self-lock molding process.Get the best molding parameters from mold-flow and rivet tool trial run comparison;(3)Self-lock push rivet qualification:Define the testing standards of self-lock push rivet according to the requirement of base station antenna,including push out force test,push in force test,rotation force,pull out male part force,thermal cycling test,vibration test,thermal cycling test with antenna,vibration test with antenna.The test results of self-lock push rivet are better than or equal to the level of US Richco rivet;(4)The application study of self-lock rivet:Recommend yellow or white as the color for self-lock rivet mass production by the root cause analysis from one failure case from the rivet melting comparison on same level micro wave and heat source conditions.New designed rivet has been introduced to production,the performance that antennas with self-lock rivets are better than or equal to the level of antennas that with US Richco rivets,self-lock push rivet joint success rate is 99%.The success of this program will establish the foundation for developing the rivet of other series of the same type,also the experience can be used for developing the new type fastener.Meanwhile,the self-lock type plastic rivet can be used without glue,high economic significance from the cost saving of material and labor.And reduce the import from USA,also have relatively high strategic meanings.
