Research On The Influence Of Environmental Regulation On The Performance Of Chinese Construction Industry

At present,the contradiction between China's environmental protection and economic growth is increasingly prominent.In order to achieve sustainable development,the balance between environmental protection and economic growth has become an important issue to be resolved.In April 2018,the political bureau of the CPC central committee held a meeting to emphasize the importance of fighting three major battles in the future.In June of the same year,the CPC central committee and the state council issued the opinions on comprehensively strengthening ecological and environmental protection and resolutely fighting pollution prevention and control.As a pillar industry in China,construction industry plays a connecting role in economic development.However,there are extensive problems in the development mode of construction industry,such as large energy consumption and serious construction pollution,which will hinder the national sustainable development strategy.Faced with the dual pressure of high energy consumption,high emissions and environmental regulation,the construction industry is bound to turn to the green development mode,and the green development of the construction industry is also an important guarantee for the smooth development of China's environmental protection in the future.Therefore,it is of great significance to explore a path of coordinated development between environmental protection and construction and construction industry.This thesis focuses on the impact of environmental regulation on the performance of the construction industry.Based on the research objective,this thesis analyzes the impact of China's environmental regulations on the performance of the construction industry under the guidance of market failure theory,property right theory and neoclassical economics theory.In addition to the introduction and conclusions and recommendations,the full text is divided into four chapters: the introduction mainly explains the significance of the topic selection,domestic and foreign research status,research content and methods,as well as innovation and deficiencies.The first chapter is the theoretical analysis,which mainly summarizes the theories related to environmental regulation and construction industry performance,and constructs the measurement indexes.The second chapter is the status quo analysis,which mainly explains the evolution of China's environmental regulations and related environmental regulations and measures of the construction industry,and makes an intuitive analysis of the relationship between environmental regulations and the performance of the construction industry.The third chapter is the analysis of the influence mechanism,mainly refining and elaborating the influence mechanism of China's environmental regulations on the performance of the construction industry.The fourth chapter is empirical analysis.By building an econometric model,this thesis firstly makes an empirical analysis of the overall impact of China's environmental regulations on the performance of the construction industry with the data of 30 provinces and cities.Then it divides the 30 provinces and cities into regions to analyze the regional differences of the impact of China's environmental regulations on the performance of the construction industry.The research conclusions of this thesis are as follows: first,on the whole,environmental regulation has a negative impact on the performance of China's construction industry;From the perspective of different performance measurement indexes,the influence of environmental regulation on the economic benefit of the construction industry is higher than that on the production benefit.The technical accumulation level of the construction industry can promote the performance of the construction industry and inhibit the negative impact of environmental regulation on the performance of the construction industry.Second,the impact of environmental regulation on the performance of the construction industry varies from region to region.In the regions with relatively backward development degree of the construction industry,technology accumulation is difficult to play a regulatory role,and the economic benefit of the construction industry is more sensitive to technology accumulation when affected by environmental regulation.In the end,this thesis puts forward relevant policy Suggestions to provide some basis and reference for the transformation of the future development mode of the construction industry,as well as for further research on environmental regulation.
