| China’s construction industry is facing a severe safety situation,and the high incidence of safety accidents has brought huge losses to construction enterprises.Therefore,enterprises are in urgent need of effective measures to improve the safety performance.The construction crew safety performance is the foundation of safety production in construction enterprises.Therefore it is important to improve the safety performance of construction crews.Aerospace,medical,nuclear power plants and other high-risk industries have greatly improved the work team safety performance from the perspective of group interaction.The interaction between construction crews affects worker safety behavior and crew’s ability to cope with environmental changes.However the current construction safety research has paid little attention to the role of team interaction.Therefore it is necessary to investigate how to improve the safety performance of construction crews from the interaction perspective.Based on the theory of team effectiveness,this paper established the construction crew safety performance factor model.First,18 factors were summarized through the literature.Then through interviewing site managers and scholars,five main factors affecting the crew safety performance are extracted,including crew external factors(safety climate),crew internal factors(crew leadership and group norm)and team process factors(construction preparation and team supervision).Secondly,based on relevant theories and literatures,a hypothesized model of construction crew safety performance is established.Thirdly,a questionnaire was designed based on the hypothesis model.Largescale data collection was conducted for the projects under construction in Guangdong,Shanghai,Chongqing and Hebei Province.The mediating effect of team process factors was tested through the structural equation model.(1)team process factors(construction preparation and team supervision)have positive effects on team safety performance.(2)safety climate,crew leadership and group norm have a positive role in promoting the team process.(3)safety climate,crew leadership and group norm have a significant positive impact on safety performance.Among them,the team process(construction preparation and team supervision)plays a partial intermediary role in the influence path of safety climate and crew leadership on safety performance.The team process(construction preparation,team supervision)plays a complete intermediary role in the influence path of team specification on safety performance.Finally,according to the calculation results this paper provides management suggestions for enterprises to improve the safety performance of construction crews,including creating a better safety climate at the construction site,strengthening the team leadership training and incentive mechanism,making full use of the crew norms,strengthening crew cooperation within the crew and promoting workers’ participation in safety management. |
