A Natural Philosophy Study Of Chinese Traditional Ink-making Technology

Ink is the premise of the invention of printing,the main material of Chinese calligraphy and painting,and the guarantee of the Chinese civilization.The invention of ink enables literary records,enables the dissemination and development of ideas,culture and knowledge,so the study of the formation and development of traditional ink-making technology is of great significance.Natural philosophy is the predecessor of the natural sciences.It played the role like science in ancient times.It has played an indelible role in understanding the world and transforming the world since ancient times,and it is one of the main driving forces for the development of science and technology.The formation and development of traditional ink-making technology is largely influenced by natural philosophical thinking.Based on the natural philosophical thoughts of the early Qin Taoist school,this article explores the inner relationship between ink-making technology and Taoist natural philosophy.This article is divided into five chapters.The first chapter introduces the research background,problem proposal,literature review,topic selection significance,research methods,innovation points and deficiencies.The second chapter discusses the origin,essence,characteristics and development motivation of ink-making technology.From the ink tortoise divination,totem drawing,pine soot alchemy to extract the origin of ink-making technology;from the raw materials,equipment,processes and other aspects to illustrate its essence;from the systemic,regional,national characteristics its features;from the craftsmanship tradition and The tradition of scholars shows that the craftsman and the scholars are the driving force for its development.The third chapter discusses the natural philosophy and its mechanism behind the invention and development of ink-making technology from phenomena and ontology,through the visible "beauty" and invisible "Tao".The aesthetic concepts of the early Qin Taoist school influenced the literati’s creative ideas and the demand for ink.The creation of ancient paintings was the pursuit of Tao,the highest category of Taoist school.For the purpose of"beauty" and "Tao",it is decided what kind of ink and what kind of ink making technology is needed.The fourth chapter discusses the developing and using process of traditional ink-making technology,also the natural philosophy thoughts behind it.Tao gave birth to everything,Tao abides in non-action,Tao imitates the nature,combining Tao with technology,these ideas have great effect on the concept of sustainable development,adapt to local conditions,ccording to time,and combine the people with tools and technology together.The fifth chapter is the conclusion and revelation:in the new era,we should pay attention to the reconstruction of the relationship between man and nature,also the organic view of nature as a whole,meanwhile we should focus on solving the negative effects brought about by the alienation of technology,so as to better develop traditional ink-making technology.
