The international labor division in modern industrial production and the increasingly developed global trade network make the industrial products of all countries in the world become more similar,and the homogenized products have caused a serious impact on the local regional culture,which is an important expression of a country’s and a region’s cultural deposits.The protection and inheritance of it is an important aspect of protecting cultural diversity.Integrating characteristic cultural factors into product design can not only promote and inherit characteristic culture,but also enrich products with more added values,thus achieving a win-win situation of culture and material.so,product design based on characteristic culture has become a common understanding of contemporary product development and design.Confucius Food Culture is an important branch of Chinese.It is the embodiment of Confucius’ theory of " the more refined the food,the better ",and has become a characteristic label of Confucius Culture industry.Tableware is the material carrier of regional characteristic food culture.How to make tableware not only meet the basic functional requirements,but also naturally highlight the characteristic food culture of Confucius is the direction that should be considered in the current tableware design of it.This article through exploring of the history of Confucius,to sum up the basic characteristics of the Confucius Food,try a kind of tableware design strategy that conforms to the diet culture of Confucius Food,and to carry out the design practice of the Confucius characteristics tableware.Firstly,through literature collection,field investigation and literature review,the Confucius Food Culture under the influence of Confucius Culture were summarized.Secondly,through analyzing the history function,shape,decoration and other elements of Confucius tableware and through questionnaires,interviews and network resources people’s dining habits,interests and aesthetic concepts in modern environment to study the influence of these factors on tableware design.Finally,with the modern design method,centering on the "ritual" in the Confucius Food Culture,the modeling elements and decorative elements in the ritual ware were extracted to design a set of tableware that not only conforms to the modern popular aesthetic orientation,but also reflects the characteristics of Confucius house dishes.
