There is a certain degree of complexities in the natural environment in Shanxi,which made the food culture there with obvious characteristics of the local.But in the Qing dynasty,because of population boom,the introduction of new crops and other social backgrounds,Shanxi subsequently showed the different style of diets.Based on the diet culture and diet status in Shanxi during the Qing dynasty,this paper mainly took the local county records,combined with the official history,notes and other data,trying to recover the diet category,diet life and diet customs in various regions of Shanxi in the Qing dynasty,and further analyzed the diet differences in various regions.In Shanxi Province,the natural environment of each region determines the differences of local food culture to a large extent.Social factors such as population and land restrict and create the establishment of food resources and food styles.The food breeds' categories and quantities in Shanxi during the Qing dynasty generally showed an increasing trend,and the food processing technology had also improved.Moreover,there are some differences in the quantity of products and the scale of resources among different regions,and the dynamic transmission and flow of food exist in different regions.The daily food and drinking life of the common people in Shanxi.When following the traditional dietary structure,different regions show different characteristics in specific dietary preferences and food practices due to the influence of nature and other factors.The diet customs of Shanxi in the Qing dynasty.In terms of festival customs,their internal spatial distribution is relatively uniform,with a little differences.Among them,the differences are mainly reflected in different regions' different emphases on festivals and the specific ways of making festival food.It is pointed out that these differences are determined by natural environment.Economic level and cultural basis are also the side factors.The etiquette of food customs in Wenxi,a county in the south of Shanxi province,is more famous and special.At the end of the paper,I try to explore group personality problems.Eventually,I found that Shanxi people groups' characteristics have something different.In the northern province of Shanxi people are resolute and steadfast,diligence and stillness shrewd diversity in central,hard-working in the southern and southeast.This paper systematically sorted out the materials related to the products and food customs in the local Chronicles of Shanxi,and basically clarified the spatial distributionpattern and formation background of the food culture phenomenon in Shanxi in the Qing dynasty.There are some regrets in this paper because of my limited ability.I cannot effectively control the basic historical materials and analyze the diet culture of Shanxi in Qing dynasty from a two-dimensional perspective.
