Design Schedule Management Based On Critical Chain Method:A Study In HH Oil Refining Project

Along with the international oil prices hovering status and the demand of refined products fell,refining overcapacity has become increasingly prominent,which has resulted in the reduction of the domestic and foreign oil refining construction projects,making the competition in the construction market increasingly fierce,then the project management is becoming increasingly important.The project schedule management,one of the core of the project management,affects the success or failure of the project,and then affects the core competitiveness of the engineering company.At present,the traditional project schedule management methods,such as critical path method,has been developed maturely,however,due to the influence of human factors such as "student syndrome","Parkinson’s law",and various objective factors,such as resources,etc.,the phenomenon of delay in the project period is common.This paper proposes a project schedule management method based on Critical Chain Technique,which is used for all aspects of planning and schedule control,and improves the efficiency and overall level of project schedule management.Based on the analysis and comparison of schedule management theories,this paper chooses the Critical Chain Technique to build the Critical Chain Model and applies it to the schedule management of HH oil refinery design project.Based on the in-depth study of the Critical Chain Model,combined with the complex and special actual situation of HH Oil Refinery Design Project and related management system methods,a complete system of project schedule management based on Critical Chain Technique is explored.The focus of this paper is to apply the Critical Chain Technique to the two processes of schedule management: planning and schedule control.This study can provide a way of thinking and reference for refinery design projects and even all projects schedule management,which is of great significance for improving schedule management efficiency and promoting schedule management standardization and specialization.
