Objective:This study compares and analyzes the differences in the clinical effects of intramuscular progesterone-induced local discomfort by the two methods of Chinese medicine wet dressing and wax treatment and conventional magnesium sulfate wet compress. The aim is to provide more effective, safe, and comfortable nursing care to patients suffering from local symptoms of progesterone intramuscular injection,so as to reduce the suffering of patients.Methods:1 Selecting 46 patients with threatened abortion(fetal movement)with luteal insufficiency who were hospitalized in a gynecological ward of a third-level Chinese medicine hospital in Heilongjiang Province from April 2017 to January 2018 as research subjects. The diagnostic criteria for threatened abortion are required to be prescribed.40 mg of progesterone injection is prescribed by the doctor.Once daily, the dosage form is 20 mg/ml.The hips are alternately injected on both sides. The intervention period is 31 days.2 In this study,a self-contrasted method was used.According to the injection site, the left hip was set as a control group and the right hip was set as a experimental group. The control group was given a magnesium sulfate wet compress, and the experimental group was given a wet compress of Chinese medicine combined with wax therapy. The time for each intervention was 30 minutes, once a day,and the intervention period was 31 days.During the intervention, skin temperature measurement, pain score, comfort evaluation, time of first occurrence of induration, induration size, and incidence of induration were used as evaluation indicators.SPSS22.0 statistical software was used for statistical analysis, and t-test,X2 test and variance analysis were used for comparison.Results:1 After the intervention, both groups were able to reduce the local pain caused by intramuscular injection of progesterone. On the 31st day of the trial, the SF-MPQ score of the experimental group was(4.85±2.46)points,while the SF-MPQ score of the control group was(6.25 ± 2.53)points,with statistical significance(P<0.05).Therefore,the effect of Chinese medicine wet dressing and wax treatment group on local pain of intramuscular injection was better than magnesium sulfate wet compress group.2 After the intervention, the duration of induration in the experimental group was(18.92 ± 3.36)days compared with the control group The induration of the control group was(16.17 ± 2.79)days.The occurrence of localized induration in intramuscular injection was statistically significant(P<0.01),so the effect of Chinese medicine wet dressing and wax treatment group on the occurrence of induration was better than that of magnesium sulfate wet compress group.3 After the intervention, the size of induration in the experimental group was(1.20± 0.3 7)cm on the last day of the test, and the size of the induration in the control group was(2.07 ± 0.46)cm.After the intervention, the size of induration in the experimental group was(1.20 ± 0.37)cm on the last day of the test, and the size of the induration in the control group was(2.07 ± 0.46)cm.The intervention effect on the local induration size of the intramuscular injection was comparable.Statistically significant differences were observed(P<0.001).Therefore,the therapeutic effect of the Chinese medicine wet dressing and wax treatment group on the induration size was significantly better than that of the magnesium sulfate wet compress group.4 For the comparison of the comfort of the two intervention methods in the intervention process, the comfort score of the experimental group in the external application process was(6.08 ± 0.67)points,and the comfort score of the experimental group in the external application process was(3.12±0.93)points.The Chinese medicine wet dressing and wax treatment group was significantly better than the magnesium sulfate group, with statistical significance(P<0.05).5 During the intervention period,no adverse reactions occurred in both treatment methods,so the intervention methods in this study were all safe and reliable.Conclusion:1 Traditional Chinese medicine wet dressing and wax treatment is effective in relieving local pain and local induration caused by intramuscular injection of progesterone. It is safe in operation and has higher comfort than magnesium sulfate wet compress.2 In previous studies,Chinese medicine wax therapy has never been applied to the study of local discomfort caused by intramuscular injection of progesterone. Therefore, this study confirmed that as a method of relieving the symptoms of local discomfort caused by intramuscular injection of progesterone, traditional Chinese medicine Wax therapy is worthy of widespread promotion in clinical practice.
