| Objective 1.To formulate the application of auricular acupressure therapy for patients with lung cancer,so as to provide evidence for clinical nursing practice.2.To explore the effect of auricular acupressure therapy for patients with lung cancer in cancer-related fatigue,sleep,anxiety,quality of life,and to analysis the influential factors on the plan compliance of patients through semi-structured interview,in order to provide reference for the next step to improve patient compliance.Methods 1.We drafted auricular acupressure plan by means of literature review,group discussion,and invited experts to conduct on-site demonstration,organized and revised experts’ opinions,and finally formed the auricular acupressure plan.2.The study was a randomized controlled trial.All100 Patients who met the inclusion criteria were randomly assigned to cowherb seed group(N=34),magnetic bead group(N=32),and control group(N=34).The control group received routine nursing intervention,cowherb seed group and magnetic bead group were accepted cowherb seed ear pressure and magnetic bead ear pressure respectively.The intervention time was 3 chemotherapy cycles.Cancer Fatigue Scale(CFS),Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI),Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),the Quality of Life Scale(EORTC QOL)were used to assessment cancer-related fatigue,sleep,anxiety,the quality of life scores before and after intervention.In addition,we conducted a semi-structured interview with the intervention groups and used Seven-stage Colaizzi method for analyzing,extracting and concluding the data and then form the themes.Results 1.The preliminary auricular acupressure draft was revised according to the expert’s advice,which included intervention object,intervention methods,evaluation tool,etc.Finally,a more scientific,reasonable and more applicable auricular acupressure scheme for lung cancer with chemotherapy was developed.2.There was no statistically significant difference among the cowherb seed group,magnetic bead group and control group in baseline data(P>0.05).3.Cancer-related fatigue: The total score of CFS in cowherb seed group and magnetic bead group were both lower than control group(P<0.05),and there was statistical difference in total score of CFS between the two intervention groups(P<0.05).The total score of CFS in cowherb seed group and magnetic bead group were lower compared with at baseline,respectively(P<0.05);but there was no significant difference in the control group(P>0.05).Sleep: The total score of PSQI in cowherb seed group and magnetic bead group were both lower than control group(P<0.05),while there was no statistical difference in total score of PSQI between the two intervention groups(P<0.05).The total score of PSQI in cowherb seed group and magnetic bead group were lower compared with at baseline,respectively(P<0.05);but there was no significant difference in control group(P>0.05).Anxiety: The total score of SAS in cowherb seed group and magnetic bead group were both lower than control group(P<0.05),while there was no statistical difference in total score of SAS between the two intervention groups(P<0.05).The total score of SAS in cowherb seed group and magnetic bead group were lower compared with at baseline,respectively(P<0.05);but there was significant increase in total score of SAS in control group(P<0.05).Quality of life: The total score of QOL in cowherb seed group and magnetic bead group were both higher than control group(P<0.05),while there was no statistical difference in total score of QOL between the two intervention groups(P<0.05).The total score of QOL in cowherb seed group and magnetic bead group were higher compared with at baseline,respectively(P<0.05);but there was significant decease in total score of QOL in control group(P<0.05).11 patients with auricular acupressure therapy were talked,and the result showed that patients were able to perform the scheme well under various promotion factors,such as self-perceived benefits,supports from family,and the responses were good.But some patients were affected by a variety of obstructive factors that lead to withdrawal.Conclusion 1.Auricular acupressure therapy could reduce cancer-related fatigue of lung cancer patients with chemotherapy,and the effect of cowherb seed auricular acupressure is better than that of the magnetic bead.2.Auricular acupressure therapy could improve the quality of sleep,anxiety level,increase the quality of life of patients.There was no difference between cowherb seed auricular acupressure and magnetic bead auricular acupressure.3.The auricular acupressure plan was applicable,feasible,and can be applied in patients with lung cancer,but some patients quited for some reasons in the process of implementation,such as questioning effectiveness.Therefore,we need to further improve the research plan in the later study,so as to increase patient’s compliance. |
