| Objective: By investigating some preschool children and their guardians in Jinshui District of Zhengzhou,this paper analyzes the pediatric health condition and its distribution patterns,to provide datas support for the development of education program for children’s traditional Chinese medicine health literacy.Methods:(1)The questionnaire was designed by referring to some relevant literature concerning children’s health,and combining with Professor Hou’s sound theoretical foundation and his rich clinical experience in children’s sub-health state.(2)Through childcare facilities,the study was conducted by issuing questionnaires to the guardians.And by classifying and summarizing the questions in the questionnaires,this article will analyze the distribution and explore reasons behind it based on the theory of TCM.Results: By investigating children aged 2 to 7 years old in Jinshui District of Zhengzhou,this paper discusses the current status of pediatric health,health problems concerned by the guardians and their distribution patterns.(1)Among the 1182 valid questionnaires,the number of parents as main guardians is 940,which accounts for79.53%.The number of grandparents as main guardians is 203.The remaining 39 is relatives or nannies as the main guardians.As the figures have indicated,parents are the main guardians.(2)According to the questionnaires,701 children,59.31% of the total number,suffer from physical diseases;177 children,14.97% of the total number,have diseases relating to daily life;120 children,10.15% of the total number,are in sub-health condition;78 children,6.60% of the total number,are attacked by diseases relating to growth and development;70 children,about 5.92% of the total number,have problems concerning drug consultation,allergies,physical conditioning,teeth,and so on;the remaining 36 children,3.05% of the total number,have psycho-behavioral problems.As the statistics have shown,the guardians pay more attention to physical diseases,but pay less attention to psychological problems;(3)Among the 701 children suffering from physical diseases,289 children,about41.23% of the total number,have pulmonary diseases;378 children,almost 53.92% of the total number,suffer from spleen diseases;the remaining 34 children have skin diseases.As for the 289 children suffering from pulmonary diseases,109 children have diseases relating to cough,which takes up a large proportion.In regard to the378 children having spleen diseases,as many as 118 children suffer from food-related diseases.Among the 177 children having diseases relating to daily life,91 children have sleep-rated problems,81 children have diet-related problems,and the number of children having sport-related problems is 5,taking a relatively small proportion.Thus,the guardians pay less attention to sport-related problems.Among the 70 children having other problems,25 children have problems relating to drug consultation,38 children have problems concerning physical fitness,4 children have problems relating to teeth and the remaining 3 suffer from allergy.Conclusions: 1The guardians pay more attention to children’s physical diseases,especially the cough in pulmonary diseases and the dyspepsia in the spleen diseases,it is consistent with the characteristics of children’s common diseases;2The guardians pay less attention to children’s psychological problems and sport-related problems。... |
