Objective The convey of PIAS3 protein in colon cancer and its adjacent normal tissues was detected to study the difference of PIAS3 protein expression between primary colon cancer cells and adjacent normal tissues.At the same time,the correlation between PIAS3 protein expression and clinical pathological stage(Dukes or TNM stage)of primary colon cancer was studied by comparing with pathological results of colon cancer differentiation,invasion depth,number of lymph node metastasis,tumor size and pathological stage.Method The clinical data of 59 patients with colon cancer treated by gastrointestinal surgery in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from January 2012 to December 2014 were retrospectively analyzed.Pathological sections were collected.The expression of PIAS3 protein in colon cancer tissues and adjacent normal tissues was detected by immunohistochemical sP method,and multivariate logistic gyrus was used.Regression analysis was used to analyze the difference of expression.Result The positive rate of PIAS3 protein expression in colon cancer tissues was 62.71%,which was significantly higher than that in 22.03% normal tissues.(P<0.01).The expression of PIAS3 protein in grade I,grade II and grade III colon cancer tissues,the expression of PIAS3 protein in different depth of invasion and lymph node metastasis were not statistically significant(P > 0.05);the degree of differentiation was related to the expression of PIAS3,and the expression of PIAS3 protein in highly differentiated colon cancer tissues was higher than that in lymph node metastasis(P > 0.05).The tumor size was correlated with the expression of PIAS3,and the positive rate in the group less than 5 cm was higher than that in the group of 5-10 cm.There was significant difference between the two groups(P < 0.01),and the expression of PIAS3 protein in female patients with colon cancer was higher than that in male patients(P < 0.05).Conclusion Overexpression of PIAS3 protein is associated with the occurrence,development and malignant progression of colon adenocarcinoma.PIAS3 may be a new prognostic marker for colon adenocarcinoma.
