Clinical Observation On Treatment Of KOA By Traditional Chinese Medicine Ironing And Applying Combined With Smearing Therapy

Objective: To observe the efficacy and safety of traditional Chinese medicine c ombined with basic therapy(Chinese medicine ironing combined with Wufang p owder application therapy)in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis(KOA).Methods: According to inclusion criteria,from September 2017 to November 2018,60 KOA patients(outpatient cases)were diagnosed in The First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine.using randomized controll ed clinical trial methods,randomized into a treatment group and a control grou p(random number table),30 cases in each one.There was no statistical differe nce in sex,age and course of disease between the two groups.The clinical sym ptoms and pain degree of the patients were observed and recorded for 2 weeks.We evaluated the curative effect by TCM clinical symptom rating scale,VAS,WOMAC score and statistical analysis.Results:1、The results of VAS score before and after treatment: before treatment,the VAS score was 5.93 ±1.17 in the treatment group and 5.97 ±1.03,in the control group.There was no significant difference between the two groups(t =0.117,P =0.907>0.05).In the treatment group,before and after treatment,the VAS score was 2.90±0.96,t ≥10.96,P < 0.01;The results of VAS score before and after treatment in the control group were 4.13±1.01,t ≥ 6.956,P < 0.01.There was significant difference in VAS score both of two groups before and after treatment.It is suggested that the treatment of KOA pain in both groups have positive significance.After treatment,the VAS score brtweet two groups contrast result was t ≤ 4.854,P < 0.01,the difference has statistically significant,it indicating that the treatment group was superior to the control group in the control of KOA pain.2、WOMAC score before and after treatment: Before the treatment,there was no significant difference in WOMAC score between the two groups(P>0.05),and it was comparable.After the treating of two weeks,the comparison of the WOMAC scores between the two groups showed that the scores in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group,and there was asignificant difference between the two groups(P<0.05),so the therapeutic method of the treatment group is better than that of the control group.3 、 Clinical curative effect of traditional Chinese Medicine Disea: After the treatment,Results treatment group the total efficiency of 93.33%,better than the control groups 86.67%,the difference between both groups was statistically signifycant.4、Safety evaluation results: In the course of this experiment,two cases of skin hypersensitivity occurred in the treatment group,a case of skin hypersensitivity in the control group.To the extent permitted by the trial design,skin hypersensitivity symptoms were effectively alleviated after active symptomatic treatment.And finally the whole process of the trial completed,there were no other adverse reactions,no shedding cases.There were no abnormal changes in blood,urine,fecal routine,liver and kidney function,electrocardiogram and general vital signsbefore and after treatment.So the application scheme of traditional Chinese medicine in this experiment is safe.Conclusion: Application of traditional Chinese medicine combined with basic therapy(traditional Chinese medicine ironing and traditional Chinese medicine patching therapy)in the treatment of KOA can get a better clinical efficacy.There is no significant difference in the occurrence rate of adverse events between thetwo groups,which is an important supplement to the external treatment of KOA,so it is worth popularizing and applying.
