BackgroundChildren’s dental health not only affects the whole body’s nutrition intake, but also plays a key role in the growth and development of the maxillofacial area. Therefore,it is the common responsibility of the society, parents and oral health workers to ensure children’s dental health.Research shows that, with the gradual increase of children’s dental consultation rate, there are more and more children’s dental anxiety and uncooperative behaviors, which seriously affect the quality of treatment, treatment compliance and children’s physical and mental health development. Therefore,it is urgent to prevent and relieve the anxious behavior in children dental treatment.ObjectivesIn this study, behavioral management techniques were used to assist the routine diagnosis and treatment of caries in preschool children, and dental anxiety score and incidence, clinical anxiety and cooperative behavior, treatment compliance and other indicators were compared between the intervention group and the control group. To evaluate the role of behavior management techniques in alleviating dental anxiety and improving visiting behaviors,so as to provide clinical basis for exploring the prevention and treatment measures of dental anxiety in preschool children, and to promote their physical and mental health development.MethodAdmitted 500 children to the department of stomatology of children who met the inclusion criteria were selected, and were randomly divided into control group and experimental group with 250 cases each.Behavior management was used in the experimental group and routine nursing was used in the control group. The general demographic data, the children’s fear survey before and after treatment, the dental subscale and the cooperative behavior rating scale were recorded respectively.SPSS 22.0 statistical software was used for data processing and analysis, where t test was used for measurement data comparison, and x2 test was used for counting data comparison.P<0.05 was considered to be statistically significant.Through statistical analysis of the data, the influence of general demographic data on dental anxiety was compared, and the anxiety degree, level of anxiety and cooperation during treatment and compliance of treatment of each group of children were compared. We can evaluate the effect of different behavioral management methods on dental anxiety in preschool caries patients.Result1.The incidence of childhood anxiety disorder is 79.2%.2.The CFSS-DS scores of children in the experimental group(38.52±20.62)were significantly lower than those in the control group(49.25±10.45)after treatment, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).3.The treatment cooperation rate of the experimental group was 64.4%,and the treatment cooperation rate of the control group was 48.8%.The treatment coordination degree of the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).The treatment compliance rate of the experimental group(94.8%)was significantly higher than that of the control group(75.2%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).4.In general data, age, gender, only child, parenting mode, delivery mode, parents’education level and children’s temperament type had no influence on the CFSS-DS score results of the two groups, and the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion and Suggestion1.The prevalence of dental anxiety in children with caries aged 3-5 years old is relatively high. The occurrence of dental anxiety is not correlated with age, gender, parenting style, delivery mode, mother’s education level and children’s temperament type.2.After the implementation of behavioral management technology, such as cognitive behavioral therapy,tell-show-do,systematic desensitization, distraction, speech control, positive reinforcement, model role, etc.,the score of CFSS-DS show that behavioral management technology can significantly alleviate the dental anxiety of children.3.To compare and analyze Venham clinical anxiety and level of cooperative behavior and treatment compliance between the two groups. The results showed that appropriate behavioral management improved the cooperation rate and compliance of children in treatment. This study suggest that social, family and child dental workers play an important role in the prevention and treatment of dental anxiety.Parents’ attention to children’s oral health is the foundation, the publicity and education of oral health knowledge is the key,and the behavior management of oral health workers in children is the fundamental.
