Part1 The relationship between diabetic macular edema and the stage of diabetic retinopathy, gender, age and diabetic durationObjective To observe the effect of gender, age, the stage of diabetic retinopathy and diabetic duration on the DME.Methods In this retrospective study,118 eyes of 118 patients with diabetic retinopathy(DR)were enrolled and divided into 88 eyes in the macular edema group(DME group)and 30 eyes in the non-macular edema group(Non DME group).Collect and compare with the difference of stage of diabetic retinopathy, sex, age and diabetic duration between two groups. Then according to the OCT morphology of macular edema, there were 27 eyes with diffuse retinal thickening(DRT),29 eyes with cystoid macular edema(CME),and 32 eyes with neurosensory retinal detachment(NSD).Observe the difference of the stage of diabetic retinopathy, sex, age and diabetic duration among tie three different types of DME.Results There was no significant difference in gender and age among the DRT,CME and NSD groups. The proportion of DRT was higher in patients with light to moderate non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy(NPDR)(p<0.05),while NSD in severe NPDR and PDR patients was relatively higher(p<0.05).Conclusion The occurrence of DME and DME with different OCT types were closely related to DR stage.Part2 Correlation of different morphological pattern of optical coherence tomography in diabetic macular edema with platelet parametersObjective To investigate the relationship between different OCT types of diabetic macular edema(DME)and platelet parameters. Methods In this retrospective cross-sectional study,118 eyes of 118 patients with diabetic retinopathy(DR)were enrolled and divided into 88 eyes in the macular edema group(DME group)and 30 eyes in the non-macular edema group(Non DME group).According to the OCT morphology of macular edema, there were 27 eyes with diffuse retinal thickening(DRT),29 eyes with cystoid macular edema(CME),and 32 eyes with neurosensory retinal detachment(NSD).Platelet count(PLT),mean platelet volume(MPV),plateletcrit(PCT)and platelet distribution width(PDW)were measured and compared in different groups to evaluate the relationship between stages of diabetic retinopathy and different types of macular edema. Results In the DME group, the MPV and PDW increased significantly than those in the Non-DME group(P=0.000).Compared with the DRT and CME group, the MPV and PDW in the NSD group were higher, and there was a statistical difference(P<0.05).Conclusions MPV and PDW increased in NSD patients.Platelets may be associated with the occurrence and development of NSD.
