The Value Of OSTA In The Screening Of Osteoporosis In Elderly In Patients

Objective:To explore the value of Osteoporosis Self-assessment Tool for Asians(OSTA)for osteoporosis screening in elderly inpatients in order to ratiaonal use of OSTA.Methods: 165 elderly patients over 60 years old who were hospitalized in the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University between January2016 to December 2017 were enrolled in the study,all these patients were measured bone mineral density by dual energy x-ray absorptiometry(DXA)and were record age,height,weight,bone mineral density,etc.Sex,age,body mass index(BMI),OSTA were divided into groups,and the differences of bone mineral density between groups were compared statistically.The value of OSTA screening was evaluated comprehensively from the correlation between OSTA and bone mineral density,the consistency between OSTA and DXA,AUC,sensitivity and specificity.Results:1.Population composition:There were 165 subjects,40 males and125 females,with an average age of(74.90 ±9.68)years.2.Comparison of bone mineral density in different groups :In the sex group,the value of bone mineral density in female was lower than that in male;In the BMI group,the higher BMI group had higher bone mineral density and OSTA than the lower BMI group;Inthe OSTA group:The lowest bone mineral density in the high-risk group of OSTA.3.Evaluation of OSTA screening value:There was a positive correlation between bone mineral density(BMD)and OSTA and the correlation coefficients were as follows: r=0.165(P<0.05)、r=0.342(P<0.01)、r=0.343(P<0.01).When OSTA is divided into low-risk,medium-risk,and high-risk,OSTA and DXA Kappa is-0.007~0.101,When OSTA is divided into low-risk and medium-high risk,OSTA and DXA Kappa is 0.078~0.145.The area(AUC)under OSTA index ROC curve is 0.270~0.457,with different OSTA values,the sensitivity and specificity are different.When OSTA was taken at-1,the sensitivity was 0% ~ 11.8%,and the specificity was 77.5% ~ 80.0%;when OSTA was taken at-2.5,the sensitivity was 10.0%~35.3%,and the specificity was56.2%~61.4%;when OSTA was taken at-4,the sensitivity was 45.0%~64.7%,and the specificity was 30.8%~36.0%.Conclusion: The ability of OSTA to screen osteoporosis in inpatients may be weak,and the value of screening needs to be further evaluated.
