Objective:To analyze occupational exposure to HIV and influencing factors of Healthcare Workers(HCWs)in Huishan District of Wuxi city. Methods:A stratified random sampling method was used to select HCWs in Huishan District, and a questionnaire survey was conducted to investigate the occupational exposure among HCWs.Results:The overall incidence of occupational exposure among HCWs in Huishan District of Wuxi is 49.86%(179/359).HIV occupational exposure accounted for 12.81%(26/203).31-39 year old HCWs are the higher population with occupational exposure(OR=2.498,P<0.01).The incidence of occupational exposure was significantly lower in nurses and medical technicians than in doctors(OR=0.229?OR=0.258,P<0.01).Training is a protective factor for occupational exposure. The probability of occupational exposure of trained HCWs is significantly lower than that of untrained(OR=0.377,P<0.05).The overall awareness rate of HIV occupational exposure knowledge was 47.12%(1015/2154).The awareness rate of HCWs in community health service centers(51.35%)was higher than that of in the general population(47.12%)and was significantly higher than that of in general hospitals above grade two(?2=12.542,P<0.01).As for the demand for occupational exposure protection,59.89%of HCWs need to use safe technology and equipment, followed by 26.74%of the people require a sound network of HIV occupational exposure disposal. Conclusion:HIV occupational exposure of HCWs in Huishan District of Wuxi city is relatively high, which is next to HBV exposure.Doctors between 30-39 years old are the focus group of occupational exposure. The level of knowledge about occupational exposure to HIV was low in all groups. There is a great demand for safety technology, equipment and the construction of HIV occupational exposure disposal network.
