| Objective:The present study aimed at determining preoperative serum levels of CA-125 and HE4 in patients with EC as well as determining sensitivity and specificity of these tumor markers in the diagnosis of EC.Methods:This study was performed from June 2017 until June 2018 on Baoding NO.1 Central Hospital.A total of 40 patients with EC was estimated as the case group,age range was 52-70,60 subjects were selected as the control group,age range was 52-68.40 patients were selected from women diagnosed with EC(based on curettage specimens)who were hospitalized for surgical hysterectomy in Bao ding NO.1 Central Hospital,after inquiring,performing physical examination,filling out the questionnaire,and taking informed consent.Controls consisted of 60 patients who were admitted for hysterectomy because of non-cancer reasons such as myoma of uterus after inquiring,performing physical examination,filling out the questionnaire,and taking informed consent.All patients were informed of the purpose of the study and written consent was obtained.Results:1.Serum levels of HE4 and CA-125 were increased significantly in the case group,compared with the control group.2.The sensitivity and specificity of the HE4 were higher for EC compared to CA-125,and,area under the ROC curve of the HE4 was also bigger than CA-125.3.In the case group,a correlation existed among age,pathological stage of EC,and HE4 levels.4.There was also a correlation between serum CA-125 and pathological grading of endometrial cancer cells.Conclusions:1.In this study,serum levels of the two tumor markers(HE4 and CA-125)were higher in EC patients;2.Study of the diagnostic values of these two tumor markers revealed that HE4 had higher sensitivity and specificity for EC compared to CA-125.3.A correlation existed among age,pathological stage of EC,and HE4 levels;there was also a correlation between serum CA-125 and pathological grading of endometrial cancer cells. |
