ObjectiveTo reveal the knowledge-attitude-practice(KAP)and mental health level and influence factors of workers exposed to n-hexane(NH workers),and explore the relationship between KAP and mental health.Through occupational health education, the applicability and application effect of the guideline for protection against occupational hazards of n-hexane(Guidelines)are studied to provide the basis for further improvement and revision of the Guidelines.Method1.In shajing street and xinqiao street, baoan district, shenzhen, simple random sampling and cluster sampling were used to select NH workers as the intervention group and the control group, with no less than 210workers in each group.2.The individual characteristics and the level of occupational disease prevention KAP of NH workers were investigated by the Questionnaire on Occupational Disease Prevention KAP of NH Workers. The mental health level of workers was investigated by the Self Check List-90(SCL-90).The intervention group received 3 months of Guidelines occupational health education, while the control group received no additional health education. The two questionnaires above were used for end-stage investigation.3.The Pearson?~2 test,Mann-Whitney U test,Kruskal-Wallis H test,Nemenyi test were used to analyze workers'occupational disease protection KAP and mental health level, and occupational health education intervention effect.Multivariate logistic regression analysis was applied to workers'occupational disease protection KAP and mental health influence factors.Statistical software used includes EpiData,SPSS,etc.Result1.The current status of occupational disease protection KAP among NH workers. The overall rate of workers'knowledge of NH occupational disease prevention KAP was 71.89%,among which the knowledge awareness rate was 41.40%,the positive attitude rate was 97.52%,and the correct practice rate was 76.77%.NH workers'occupational disease protection KAP level is affected by age, education, training, knowledge score, attitude score, practice score and mental health level.OR and95%CI were 1.267(1.006~1.596),2.560(1.757~3.730),1.581(1.120~2.233),16.542(8.417~32.509),107.547(46.689~247.736),22.977(11.169~47.268),0.390(0.272~0.557),respectively.2.The current status of mental health among NH workers. The SCL-90 score of NH workers was 125.45 28.82,lower than the national level(P<0.05).The mental health level of workers was affected by marital status, enterprise size, training, attitude score and practice score,OR and95%CI were 0.655(0.450~0.953),1.411(1.119~1.778),0.381(0.263~0.553),0.620(0.398~0.988)and 0.596(0.398~0.892),respectively.3.The effect of occupational health education among NH workers. There was no statistically significant difference in the occupational disease prevention knowledge score, belief score, behavior score and KAP score of the workers between baseline and end-stage(The Z values are-1.647,-1.251,-0.134,-1.567,P>0.05).The knowledge score, attitude score, practice score and KAP score of the workers in the end stage were significantly higher than start stage in the intervention group(The Z values were-19.091,-6.858,-6.557,-15.722,P<0.01).In the control group, there was no difference in the scores of 9 factors and total symptom index of SCL-90 between the baseline and end-stage(The Z values were-0.028,-0.467,-0.232,-0.113,-0.152,-0.155,-0.094,-0.277,-0.467,P>0.05,respectively).The scores of somatization factor, compulsion factor, anxiety factor, paranoia factor and total symptom index in the end-stage were significantly lower than the baseline period in intervention group, with statistically significant differences(The Z values were-2.660,-2.371,-3.157,-1.970 and-2.588,respectively,P<0.05).Conclusions1.The NH workers had higher occupational disease prevention attitude, general prevention practice and lower knowledge awareness rate.Workers'occupational disease protection KAP level was affected by age, marriage, education, job position, monthly income, training, knowledge score, attitude score, practice score and mental health.Occupational health education should be strengthened for workers with low educational qualifications, ordinary jobs, low income, lack of training and poor mental health.2.The overall mental health of NH workers was good.Married, trained, high attitude and practice scores were protective factors for workers'mental health;compared to small corporations, large corporations were risk factors for workers'mental health.3.There is an interaction between occupational disease protection KAP and mental health of NH workers.4.The Guidelines are applicable to the occupational health education of NH workers, which can improve the level of occupational disease protection KAP and mental health of workers...
