Objective:To investigate the status of knowledge,attitude and practice related to cervical cancer among women in Wuhan,evaluate the impact of health education on cervical cancer,in order to provide information of health education about cervical cancer for women in Wuhan.Methods: The project was launched in Hubei Province Maternal and Child Health Hospital and Female Compulsory Drug Detoxification Center.To investigate the 419 women who participate in activities through the health education.Mainly investigate the changes of cognition,attitude about cervical cancer of these women,respectively before the health education and after the health education.Results:(1)There are 419 women took part in this study.The average age was 42.35±9.03 years old.Most of the women were in their 40 s,accounting for 45.9%.Most of them were Han nationality.In terms of the educational level,women who had a low level of education of junior high school accounted for 41.8%;in the field of work,women who were unemployed accounted for 75.4%;(2)Most of them had heard of cervical cancer,accounting for 89.3%.Women who knew about cervical cancer screening accounted for 89.3%;only 18.9% of them correctly answered that married women whose age older than 20 years old should take part in cervical cancer scenning.People who did not think that cervical cancer screening would harm themselves accounted for 77.8%.People who never heard of cervical cancer vaccine accounted for 58.9%.There are 172 women believed that cervical cancer vaccine was effectively,accounting for 41.1%;Women who would like to participated in cervical cancer screening regularly accounted for 86.6%.In terms of whether or not they had participated in cervical cancer screening in the past,only 18.6% of women indicated that they had participated in a cervical cancer screening.(3)Age,educational background and job were important factors which influenced if women had participated in cervical cancer screening in the past(P < 0.05).Age(? = 1.28,P<0.001)and knowledge level of cervical cancer(?= 0.09,P< 0.001)were important factors influencing whether women had participated in the screening of cervical cancer.(4)After health education of cervical cancer,the cognition level of cervical cancer among women in Wuhan was significantly higher than that before intervention.(P < 0.01).Conclusion:(1)Women in Wuhan have low cognitive levels about the cervical cancer,they have high prevention consciousness but actually only a few of them took measures to prevent cervical cancer;(2)Age,cognitive levels and attitude towards cervical cancer screening are main factors which influence people's participation in cervical cancer screening project;(3)Health education on cervical cancer can effectively improve public's knowledge level about cervical cancer.
