With the improvement of the level of economic development, the living standards of our residents have also been significantly improved. At the same time, the needs of individual residents to improve their quality of life are becoming more and more urgent. How to improve individual health is also becoming an important issue.Health literacy is an important factor influencing the health of residents, and it is also a key indicator for us to evaluate whether individual residents can acquire, use and process health information. However, due to the uncoordinated development of urban and rural areas in China, there is also a large gap in the level of health literacy among urban and rural residents. This paper defines the index of evaluating residents' individual health literacy, and uses the health demand model by Grossman as a blueprint to try to construct a new index system of evaluating resident individual health literacy, measure the difference of health literacy of urban and rural residents in China, and use OLS regression model to analyze the health of urban and rural residents. The influencing factors of literacy differences provide theoretical support and policy recommendations for reducing the differences between urban and rural as defined in dual strcture, improving the health literacy level of the whole nation, and improving the level of public health services. This paper is divided into four parts. The first part is the definition of concept and the theoretical basis. This paper defines health literacy as the degree of mastery of individual health knowledge and daily health behavior, and divides the level of health literacy into three dimensions, namely basic health.knowledge, healthy lifestyle, basic skills.Follow-up is the analysis that carried out with Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory,Grossman's health needs and medical service models, health promotion theory and new public service theory. The second part is to build a index system of health literacy evaluation for urban and rural residents.Using the China Health and Nutrition Survey(CHNS)2015 individual data conducted by the China Center for Disease Control and Prevention in collaboration with the University of North Carolina, and selecting the knowledge points selected in the questionnaire to match the “China Residents' Health Literacy 66” for determing the evaluation indicators of health literacy.Make sure about the setting of the data and the index layer of evaluating in health literacy, then conducting preliminary descriptive statistical analysis. The third part is the analysis of the difference in the health literacy level of urban and rural residents in China. The residents using in the second chapter will evaluate the health literacy level and the three dimensions of the full sample, urban resident sample and rural resident sample, and analyze the condition of healthy literate residents. The fourth part is an empirical analysis of the factors affecting the health literacy of urban and rural residents.According to the Grossman health demand model, the influencing factors of residents' health literacy were constructed.Through regression analysis, the influencing factors of residents' health literacy were obtained, and the differences were analyzed. The results of the study prove that the level of individual health literacy of urban residents in China is higher than that of rural residents in all aspects, among which the basic health knowledge is the highest, followed by the basic skills, and the healthy lifestyle score is the lowest. From the perspective of urban-rural differences, the difference in scores between urban and rural residents in terms of healthy lifestyles is the largest, while the difference in basic health knowledge is the smallest.Among the influencing factors, the level of health literacy is higher among married residents, residents with higher education level, residents with higher income levels, residents with urban household registration, and residents with medical insurance;and the two factors, ages and employment, have different ways in affecting the health literacy of urban and rural residents.Based on the analysis results of the above influencing factors,in order to improve the health of the whole people,it is necessary to improve the education level of the whole people, reduce the level of regional economic development, and raise the income level of the residents.Guided, mobilized and promoted the residents to consciously improve their health literacy and health.Become a power.
