ObjectiveTo observe whether Jiawei Guipi Decoction has a more effective effect on correcting anemia, improving symptoms, and improving the quality of life of patients with gastric cancer compared with traditional single-dose EPO after intervention with tumor-associated anemia in patients with gastric cancer.Provide treatment ideas and reference for anemia.MethodsA total of 60 patients who met the inclusion criteria in our hospital’s Oncology,Gastroenterology inpatient and outpatient clinics were included in this study. They were randomly divided into the control group and the treatment group with30 patients. The treatment group used Jiawei Guipi Decoction orally combined with EPO subcutaneous injection;the control group only used EPO subcutaneous injection. After 4 weeks, the changes of hemoglobin and related parameters, syndrome scores, and KPS scores of the two groups of patients were observed before and after treatment, and the efficacy was evaluated.Results3.1 Baseline comparison: There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in terms of gender, duration, age, previous treatment, clinical stage, and degree of anemia(P>0.05).3.2 In terms of anemia: After 4 weeks, the HGB value of the control group was93.52 ± 19.318,the HGB value of the treatment group was 104.29 ± 19.071,the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05);the RBC value of the control group was 4.047 ± 0.560,the RBC value of the treatment group 4.433 ± 0.551,the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05);the HCT value of the control group was 30.413 ± 6.296,the HCT value of the treatment group was31.399 ± 7.008,the difference was not statistically significant(P> 0.05);the MCV value of the control group was 89.959 ± 3.732,the MCV value of the treatment group was 91.193 ± 3.259,the difference was not statistically significant(P> 0.05);the RET # value of the control group was 0.029 ± 0.006,the RET # value of the treatment group was 0.031 ± 0.005,the difference was not statistically significant(P > 0.05);indicating that the treatment group is significantly better than the control group in increasing HGB and RBC,but there is no obvious advantage in increasing HCT,MCV and RET #.After 4 weeks, the effective rate of anemia in the treatment group(82.1%)was significantly higher than that in the control group(51.9%),and the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05).It can be seen that the treatment group had better efficacy in terms of anemia efficacy.3.3 TCM syndromes: After 4 weeks, the syndrome scores of the two groups decreased to different degrees than before. The syndrome score of the control group was 10.48 ± 4.02,the syndrome score of the treatment group was 8.39 ±3.48,and the syndrome reduction effect of the treatment group was better(P<0.05),Better than the control group. The total effective rate of syndromes in the treatment group was 71.4%,and the total effective rate of syndromes in the control group was 40.7%.The difference was statistically significant(P <0.05),indicating that the treatment group had a better effect in improving syndromes.3.4 Quality of life: After 28 days, the KPS score of the control group was 73.85± 12.36,and the KPS score of the treatment group was 80.57 ± 10.30,indicating that the treatment group could better increase the KPS score(P <0.05).The treatment group had better effect on improving the quality of life(P <0.05),which was statistically significant.ConclusionIn response to tumor-associated anemia in patients with gastric cancer,Jiawei Guipi Decoction combined with subcutaneous injection of EPO has a significant effect, which can effectively correct anemia, improve clinical symptoms of Chinese medicine after anemia, improve patient quality of life, and is safe, reliable, and non-toxic.
