Objective:1.Analyzed the condition and influencing factors of depression in the elderly;2.To explore the effects and mechanism of qi-stagnation,rumination,and aging attitudes on depression in the elderly, and to provide theoretical refercence for reducing the damage of depression to the physical and mental health of the elderly.Methods:1.Literature review method: combing the literature related to depression based on the holistic view of traditional Chinese medicine.2.Questionnaire survey method: Self-compiled demographic questionnaire,Short Form Chinese Geriatric Depression Scale(GDS-15),Mac Arthur Scale of Subjective Social Status(SSS),the Chinese version of Ruminative Responses Scale(RRS),Attitudes to Aging Questionnaire(AAQ),and the short version of Constitution in Chinese Medicine Questionnaire-30 items(CCMQ-30)were used to conduct the questionnaire survey on the elderly over 60 years old.3.Statistical analysis: SPSS 25.0 statistical software was used for data analysis on descriptive statistical analysis,t-test,analysis of variance,Pearson correlation analysis, multiple linear regression analysis and chain mediation test,as well as SPSS macro program PROCESS compiled by Hayes.Check level α=0.05.Results:1.Through the analysis of depression in 1938 elderly over 60 years old,the research results are as follows:(1)The descriptive analysis results showed that the score of the depression scale(M ±SD)in the elderly was(3.49 ± 2.848).According to the revised GDS-15 by tang Dan,8points or more were considered as the high group, and the proportion of the high group was10.83%.(2)The difference analysis results showed that there were statistically significantdifferences in depression scale scores of the elderly in general demographic characteristics:different places of residence(F=12.235,P<0.001),education level(F=7.597,P<0.001),and pre-retirement occupation(F=7.050,P<0.001).Family characteristics: marital satisfaction(t=-6.441,P<0.001),family relationship(t=-10.593,P<0.001),frequency of communication with children(F=15.367,P<0.001),left-behind elderly(t=-3.711,P<0.001),and the elderly who lost their only child(t=-2.900,P<0.01)showed statistically significant differences in depression scale scores(P<0.05).In terms of social security, there was a statistically significant difference in depression scale scores of the elderly on pension(t=5.426,P<0.001)and medical insurance(t=3.704,P<0.001)(P<0.05).Individual health: the scores of depression scale in the elderly showed statistically significant differences in self-care ability(t=-7.091,P<0.001)and whether they had chronic diseases(t=5.785,P<0.001)(P<0.05).(3)The correlation analysis results showed that depression in the elderly was negatively correlated with subjective social class(r=-0.175,p<0.01),and the correlation coefficient was statistically significant.(4)The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that marital satisfaction, family relationships, frequency of communication with children, pension, health insurance,self-care ability, chronic illness and subjective social class were influencing factors of depression in the elderly.2.Based on the analysis of the effects and mechanism of qi-stagnation,rumination,and aging attitudes on depression in the elderly in 402 aged over 60 years, the research results are as follows:(1)Qi-stagnation was positively correlated with rumination(r=0.729,p<0.01)and depression(r=0.554,p<0.01).There was a significant negatively correlation between qi-stagnation and aging attitudes(r=-0.585,p<0.01).Rumination was negatively correlated with aging attitudes(r=-0.524,p<0.01),and positively correlated with depression(r=0.607,p<0.01).Aging attitudes was negatively correlated with depression(r=-0.521,p<0.01),and the correlation coefficients were statistically significant.(2)The effect of qi-stagnation on depression in the elderly mainly went through thefollowing four paths: path 1,qi-stagnation directly affects depression in the elderly, with the95%CI of [0.017,0.249] and the relative effect value of 24.01%.Path 2,Rumination played a partial mediating role between qi stagnation and depression in the elderly, with the 95%CI of [0.190,0.372] and the relative effect value of 50.36%.Path 3,Aging attitudes played a partial mediating role between qi-stagnation and depression in the elderly, with the 95%CI of [0.057,0.163] and the relative effect value of 18.95%.Path 4,Qi-stagnation has a multiple mediating effect on depression through rumination and aging attitudes, with the 95%CI of[0.011,0.068] and the relative effect value of 6.68%.Conclusion:1.Depression in the elderly was affected by many factors, among which the main factors were: marital satisfaction, family relationship, frequency of communication with children, pension, medical insurance,self-care ability, chronic disease, and subjective social class.2.Qi stagnation can significantly positively predict depression in the elderly;Rumination and aging attitudes respectively played a partial mediating role between qi stagnation and depression in the elderly.Rumination and aging attitudes played a chain mediating role between qi stagnation and depression in the elderly.
