Objective:This study was using Regulating Qi and Stomach Decoction combined with Rabeprazole Enteric-coated Capsules and Mosapride Citrate to treat the patients with reflux esophagitis of liver and stomach disharmony syndrome type,to observe and analyse reflux-related symptoms, endoscopic esophageal mucosa and TCM(Traditional Chinese Medicine)syndromes of the patients before and after treatment, and explore the effectiveness and safety of the treatment.Method:74 patients with reflux esophagitis of liver and stomach disharmony syndrome were selected and randomly divided into two groups,37 cases in each group.(1)The control group was treated with conventional western medicines(Rabeprazole Enteric-coated Capsules and Mosapride Citrate);(2)The treatment group was treated on the basis of western medicines plus Regulating Qi and Stomach Decoction. Two groups of patients were treated continuously for 8 weeks. After treatment, the total effective rate,TCM syndrome scores,GerdQ scores, endoscopic esophageal mucosa grading and adverse reactions were analyzed.Result:1.Comparisons of comprehensive curative effect: The total effective rates of the comprehensive curative effect of the treatment group and the control group were 94.59% and65.71% respectively. There was a significant difference between the two groups(P<0.01),which means the treatment group was better than the control group in comprehensive curative effect.2.Comparisons of GerdQ scores:Both the treatment group and the control group could reduce the total scores of GerdQ(P<0.01);And the treatment group was better than the control group in reducing the total scores of GerdQ,with significant difference(P<0.01).3.Endoscopic esophageal mucosa comparison: After treatment, the endoscopic esophageal mucosa grading score of each group improved significantly(P<0.01),and the treatment group was better than the control group, with significant difference(P<0.05).4.Comparison of single TCM syndrome: After treatment, all syndromes in the treatment group were improved than those before treatment(P<0.01);While in the control group, the syndromes of acid regurgitation, fullness or pain of chest and flank, eructation, abdominal distension and hiccup were improved than those before treatment(P<0.01),but poor appetite and depression or irritability emotion aggravates illness were not improved after treatment(P>0.05).The syndromes of fullness or pain of chest and flank, eructation, depression or irritability emotion aggravates illness, hiccup and poor appetite in the treatment group were better than those in the control group(P<0.05),but there were no significant differences in the symptoms of acid regurgitation and abdominal distension(P>0.05).5.Comparison of the total scores of TCM syndromes: After treatment, both groups could reduce the total scores of TCM syndromes, there was a significant difference between the two groups(P<0.01);And the treatment group was better than the control group in reducing the total scores of TCM syndromes after treatment, with significant difference between them(P<0.01).6.Adverse reactions observed: During the medication period, there were no adverse reactions in the treatment group, while 2 patients in the control group had mild diarrhea, but the adverse reactions naturally disappeared and they could still persist in completing the treatment, the adverse reactions rate of the control group was 5.7%.There was no significant difference in the adverse reactions between two groups(P>0.05),which was indicating that both the treatment methods were safe.7.Before and after treatment, routine blood, urine and stool tests, liver and kidney functions, electrocardiogram in these two groups showed no significant abnormalities(P>0.05),which was indicating that both the treatment methods were safe. Conclusion:The combination of Regulating Qi and Stomach Decoction and conventional western medicines in the treatment of reflux esophagitis with liver and stomach disharmony could significantly improve the clinical symptoms of TCM,reflux-related symptoms and endoscopic esophageal mucosal lesions, and the curative effect was better than the simple conventional western medicines, clinical application is safe and effective, without toxic side effects.
