Clinical Observation On The Treatment Of Wind-cold-damp Periarthritis Of Shoulder In Adhesion Phase By Baixiao-moxibustion Combined With Chinese-massage-manipulation

Objectives:To observe the treatment effect of wind-cold-damp periarthritis of shoulder in adhesion phase by baixiao-moxibustion,in order to provide a new thought for the clinical treatment of frozen shoulder.Methods: This study was a randomized controlled trial,which selected 60 patients with periarthritis of shoulder that met the experimental standard and received treatment in Orthopedics Department in Xiamen Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine during January2019-December 2019.The patients were randomly divided into experimental group and control group with 30 cases.The patients in control group were treated by massage manipulation with 3 times a week for 6 weeks,and the massage manipulations referred to the therapeutic schedule of periarthritis of shoulder in adhesion phase as mentioned in Massage Therapy,the program textbook for National TCM colleges and universities.The patients in experimental group were treated by baixiao-moxibustion base on the treatment of control group.And both experimental group and control group should be instructed to exercise shoulder function everyday throughout the treatment.During treatment,two groups of patients actively cooperate with shoulder function training.The visual analogue scale(VAS)and shoulder function scores of two groups before treatment and one week after the treatment were recorded for statistical analysis.Results:1.The comparison of general information(gender,age,disease course,shoulder disease)between two groups in accordance with this shoulder study was not statistically significant(P> 0.05).No case fell off during the study.2.During the treatment,no obvious adverse reactions occurred in patients of two groups,including hematoma,swelling and skin allergies.At the end of treatment,the Liver and Kidney function had no obvious abnormalities.3.VAS pain scores could be improved by both treatment schedules,of which the improvement of pain scores in the experimental group was more significant than that of control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).4.The shoulder function score of patients could be improved by both treatment schedules,but the score of shoulder function in experimental group was better than that of control group one week after treatment(P<0.05),the difference was statistically significant.5.One week after the end of the treatment,the clinical efficacy was compared.The total effective rate was 93.3% in the experimental group and 83.3% in the control group.The experimental group had better efficacy than the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions: Baixiao-moxibustion can be used to improve the patients’ pain of the shoulders and promote the recovery of shoulder joint activity.It has the advantages of easy operation and high safety.Therefore,it is the effective program for treating wind-cold-damp periarthntis of shoulder in adhesion phase.
