Objective: To explore medication rules of traditional Chinese medincine(TCM)in treating pediatric allergic rhinitis(AR)with internal and external TCM compounds in the literatures and professor Ren’s treatment for pediatric allergic rhinitis(AR)based on data mining(DM)technology. On the basis of previous literature research, systematic evaluation and meta-analysis of literature related to pediatric AR treatment. With administration of internal TCM compounds were further conducted to clarify the exact efficacy of internal TCM in the treatment of the disease.Method: TCM treatment of pediatric AR from the beginning of establishing database to March 2019 were collected from Chinese databases. We used the traditional Chinese medicine inheritance support platform system(V2.5)to analyze the medication rules of internal and external TCM compounds for pediatric AR.Then with help of data visualization softwares such as Tableau 2019.4 and Word Art,we included some rules related to the study area, syndrome type distribution and industry standard. We selected and evaluated quality of the clinical randomized controlled trials which is standard internal TCM in the treatment of the disease from the studies we included in the literature DM.By using Review Manager 5.3 and Stata14.0 software,we made a meta-analysis.With reference to the information from literature DM and Meta-analysis,we established the "pediatric allergic rhinitis clinical data system(PARCDS)" by Access2010 software. We screened and sorted professor Ren’s outpatient treatment for pediatric AR between May 2018 and January 2020,and input the medical records in PARCDS.Then combined the use of DM softwares such as SPSS Modeler18.0 and Tableau 2019.4,we further explored professor Ren’s treatment medicine rules of pediatric AR in Tianjin.Result: 199 qualified literatures were included in the literature DM,among which 158 were related to pediatric AR taking Chinese medicine internally and 52 were used externally(11 of which were taking Chinese medicine internal-externally),involving 177 prescriptions of internal Chinese medicine,44 prescriptions of external Chinese medicine and 18 proprietary Chinese medicines.Through the analysis of the selected internal and externalprescriptions,it is found that both of them are mainly spicy, warm, and lung-meridian drugs.Twenty qualified literatures were included in the meta-analysis,involving 1719 children,of which 879 were in the trial group and 840 in the control group. The improved Jadad score of the included research methodology quality showed that 2 items were 4 points and 18 items were 0 to 3 points. There were statistically significant differences between the trial group and the control group in the scores of short-term clinical efficiency/significant efficiency,sneezing/nasal congestion/runny nose symptoms, recurrence rate and long-term effective rate, but no statistically significant differences in the scores of nasal itching and nasal signs.Clinical DM included 122 records of 67 patients with pediatric AR in professor Ren’s outpatient department, including 36 in the acute stage,86 in the chronic duration stage(28 in the mild stage and 94 in the moderate to severe stage). The overall drug use of professor Ren mainly focused on drugs such as decompression, heat clearing, deficiency supplementing, blood circulation and stasis removing, and also commonly used drugs of spicy taste, warm nature and lung meridian. But the clinical DM’s proportion of drugs of bitter taste, cold and cold, liver meridian was higher than the corresponding literature DM’s proportion of drugs. The top 10 common medicines with an overall utilization rate of more than 50% were Xanthium,Radix Magnolia,Scutellaria,Mint,Angelica dahurica,Fangfengzhi,Cassia twig,Acorus gramineus,Almond and Houttuynia houttuyniae. The core drugs were Xanthium,Radix Magnolia,Angelica dahurica and Mint.In the process of pediatric AR treatment, professor Ren emphasized the symptomatic treatment of three pathogenic factors including wind, phlegm and blood stasis. The overall clinical utilization rate of wind-dispelling drugs and expectorant reached 100%,and the overall clinical utilization rate of blood-activating drugs reached 65.57%.The dosage of common drugs is 3-10 g,and the dosage of some heavy mineral drugs is 10-25 g.The dosage of specific drug frequency is closely related to the patient’s factors(age, disease severity, disease stage). Conclusion: The main prescription of traditional Chinese medicine for pediatric AR treatment in children is to promote lung ventilation, among which the internal prescription focuses on the combination of sweet and cold, the treatment of lung and spleen, and the external prescription focuses on the combination of "xin wen xing san" and permeating thedrug from skin surfaces into blood vessel. The overall clinical efficacy of oral Chinese herbal compound in the treatment of AR in children was higher than that of pure positive western medicine. The results of the clinical study reflected that professor Ren advocated to adjust cold and heat properties in the clinical treatment of pediatric AR.And professor Ren also emphasised the combination use of spicy and bitter medicines, nourishing the body with the sweet medicine at the same time.and highlight the drug concept of treating lung mainly by teacher and regulating qi and blood.Professor Ren always treated pediatric AR by "dispel wind and phlegm, and dredge the nose, then regulate visceral function ",which focused on "removing exogenous wind and eliminating phlegm" in the acute stage and "removing endogenous wind, tonifying spleen to eliminate phlegm and channel collateralsr" in the chronic duration stage.
