| In recent years,more and more foreign literary works are translated into Chinese,which not only makes more Chinese readers have the opportunity to learn about some excellent foreign literary works and exotic cultures,but also promotes the spread and communication of literary works in the world.The source text selected in this translation report is taken from a science fiction,Out of the Silent Planet,which was written by a famous British novelist in 20 th century.The novel mainly tells Ransom,a Cambridge philologist,was abducted on his journey and taken via a spaceship to the red planet of Malacandra for human sacrifice,and eventually he escaped and returned to the earth.The story is adventurous with unexpected and circuitous development on plot,and it can arouse readers‘ interest.Its language is simple but impressive and vivid.There are 22 chapters in the novel and this report is based on the translation of the first 5 chapters.Under the guidance of Skopos Theory,the author strictly complies with the skopos rule,coherence rule and fidelity rule to ensure the readability and accuracy of the target text.In this report,the author states the preparations and implementation of translation.From lexical,syntactic and textual levels,the author analyzes and summarizes the typical problems encountered during the translation process and puts forward corresponding translation methods and skills through case analysis so as to accumulate practical experience and provide a solid foundation for future literary translation.Lastly the author makes a summary of this translation practice,mainly including the translation experience and deficiencies,and some suggestions for future translation practice. |
