Light And Dark Metaphor:the Mutual Influence Of Moral Concept And Shade Perception

This study first comb the development process of conceptual metaphor theory,metaphor are summarized relevant empirical research,found that metaphor empirical study on the metaphorical mapping direction controversial,studies have found that metaphor is one-way mapping direction,also studies have proved that metaphor is bidirectional mapping direction.From the point of contention,this study probes into the moral metaphors of the light and dark,and tries to explain the factors that affect the direction of the mapping--the processing depth.Through two experiments,this paper discusses the mutual influence between the perception of brightness and the concept of morality and the direction of metaphor mapping,as well as the influence of processing depth on the direction of metaphor mapping.In experiment 1,the light and dark color block start up paradigm was adopted.There were two tasks in the experiment.Task 1 was the judgment of the true and false words,and task 2 was the judgment of the target color block.Research on the shallow level of processing level,lightness the mutual influence between consciousness and moral concept,task 1 found that vocabulary types and color types of interaction was not significant.Task 2 found that the interaction between lexical type and color shading was significant.The simple analysis shows that under the condition of moral vocabulary,the probability that the target color block is judged to be bright is significantly greater than the probability that the target color block is judged as dark.Under the condition of immoral words,the probability that the target color block is judged as dark is significantly greater than the probability that the target color block can be judged as bright.Experiment 2 also uses the color block priming paradigm,but the task 1 in the experiment is changed to the moral word titer,and task 2 is the same as experiment 1.To explore in the deep processing level,the level of brightness perception and interaction between moral concept,task 1 found that the interaction vocabulary titer and color light and shade.The simple effect analysis shows that when the starting image is light grey,the judgment reaction of moral words is faster than the judgment reaction of immoral words.Under the condition of starting the dark gray image of the image,the judgment reaction of immoral words is faster than that of moral vocabulary judgment.Task 2 results showed that the interaction between lexical type and color shading was significant.The simple effect analysis shows that under the condition of moral vocabulary,the probability that the target color block is judged to be bright is significantly greater than the probability that the target color block is judged to be dark.Under the condition of immoral words,the probability that the target color block is judged as dark is significantly greater than the probability that the target color block can be judged as bright.Through this empirical study,the following conclusions are obtained:(1)the mutual influence of moral concept and color shade perception,supporting the concept of conceptual metaphor theory.(2)the mapping between moral concepts and value direction perception is affected,the depth of concept processing specifically,deep processing level,the two maps in both directions,namely moral concepts on brightness perception,light perception in turn will also affect the moral concept;shallow processing level,both the direction of one-way mapping that is,the moral concept of perception and perception of light shading effect,does not affect the moral concept.Finally,this study provides evidence for empirical research on the influencing factors of the mapping direction in conceptual metaphor theory.
