A Report On Interpreting Practice At Wanda Aquarium Project Of Nanchang Wanda Cultural Tourism City

Since its entry into WTO,along with its deepening of Reform and Opening-up policy in economic and political fields from the 1980 s,China's international status has been consolidated,and its influence widely spread.As a result,the economic,cultural and political exchanges between China and the rest of the world have been tremendously increased.At present,more international activities in all forms are organized in China,among which,the construction business is one of the booming industries attracting foreign investment and field experts.Nowadays the number of international and local construction projects is skyrocketing in China,and this,in sum,raises the demand for and the qualifications of interpreters;meanwhile,the wellestablished system of the interpretation business provides a new studying field for interpretation research.Consecutive Interpretation,as a common form of interpretation,has its uniqueness and research value,attracting more and more researchers' attention.This report derives from the author's interpretation experience lasting for six weeks,in the field of acrylic fabrication and installation.The theoretical base of this report is on the application of Gile's theory in the conduct of consecutive interpretation,comprising the Effort Model and his famous Comprehension Equation.The author combines the three fundamental factors – listening and analyzing,memory and production with her own interpretation case analysis,and treats Gile's theory as the guidance of her practice.Through analysis and elaboration,she is able to provide revised version of her interpretation texts which crowns the essence of this report.The practical research content of this report focuses on the value of guidance of Gile's interpretation theory in the application of interpretation practice.Through the six weeks of interpretation practice,the author came to the following conclusion: First,the interpreter should utilize the theory of Gile,which boosts the efficiency of interpretation.In particular,the proper utilization of the theory of listening andanalysis is able to assist the interpreter to accomplish the interpretation tasks better.Second,the interpreter should bear Gile's energy distribution equation in mind,namely,listening and analysis,short-term memory and production,so as to achieve satisfactory outcomes.The author strives to explain Gile's theory in her interpretation practices,offers the revised editions of her own interpretation mission,attaining the goal of guiding practice with the theory.
