A Study On Chinese-English Translation Of Thaumaturgic Bionics (Excerpt)

In 1960 s,with the rapid development of science and technology,a science of how to imitate the principles of biological system to build technique system came into being,so it will be great helpful for the progress and development of our human beings to further research that.Therefore,the author selected some excerpts of Thaumaturgic Bionics to translate and study.In 1980 s,as a new perspective for the translating research,skopos theory emerged and developed and it is of great guiding importance to the translation strategies of sci-tech texts.By analyzing the representative cases of translation,the report explores three aspects in the translation projects: preparing for text formatting and vocabularies before translating,as well as analyzing and targeting the source text and the purpose to lay a foundation for accurate test translation;applying the skopos theory to the version and then collate the translating version to enhance its purpose and accuracy;making a detailed analysis of translating skills on words,sentences and figures of speech.The report selects typical and classical issues on the translation of English for science and technology,so in the process of translating,the translator solved those problems via some appropriate translation strategies,such as class conversion,sentence integration and split and rhetorical application and hopes to not only improve the capability of translation but also arouse the great interest of readers in this science.By readers’ reading the translation version,scientific communications will be promoted and science awareness of people will be enhanced.
