| Constructs of Hu Fang-ping’s Yi-ology were accomplished by the systematic annotation of the Enlightenment on Yi-ology.Zhu Xi absorbed and reformed the theory of the River Map and Luo Chart and Shao Yong’s Priori image-numbertheory,trying to construct a kind of "natural image-numberology" that is different from the Yi-ology of the Han Dynasty and that can be used to show the natural changes of the universe.The Enlightenment on Yi-ology expressed in brief and obscure,later scholars had understanding of the partial loss.Hu Fang-ping wrote The Explanation of the Enlightenment on Yi-ology to explain it in detail,so that Zhu Xi’s image-numberology could be highlighted.This paper makes systematic annotation on Hu Fang-ping’s Yi-ology,following the inherent textual structure which constituted by Probing the River Map and Luo Chart,Questioning Trigrams,Stating the Theory of Divination,Investigating the Bianzhan Theory,in order to reveal that the image-numberology connects the theory of Taiji with material benefits.The introduction part of the paper firstly introduces the background and family origin of Hu Fang-ping,and secondly combs the research results on Hu Fang-ping in the current academic circle,and thirdly points out the deficiencies of the research and the necessity and significance of further research,and finally puts forward the research methods and writing ideas of this paper.The first chapter focusing on the analysis performed by Hu Fang-ping of the River Map and the Luo Chart combs the idea that "images root in the River Map and the Luo Chart".First of all,Hu Fang-ping performed an in-depth excavation of the mathematical theory in the River Map and the Luo Chart,in the aspect of one to four,of five,of six to nine and of the theory of respecting the Yang and belittling the Yin.Secondly,Hu Fang-ping specifically explained the process of drawing trigrams based on the River Map,and pointed out that Jiu Chou were made without successively points in the process of drawing Hong Fan based on the Luo Chart.At last,Hu Fang-ping demonstrated the similarities between the River Map and the Luo Chart from the angle of the relative relationship between the number and the phase,of the order of operation,of the pairing relation between the number and the trigram.Through the interpretation of these questions,Hu Fang-ping revealed the deep meaning behind the River Map and the Luo Chart,and outlined the broad picture of the changes of the heaven and the earth,and layed the "natural image-numberology" as the foundation of Zhu Xi’s "Li".The second chapter focusing on the revelation performed by Hu Fang-ping of the implication of the Priori Map and the Postnatal Map analyzes the idea that "images can be showed in trigrams".First of all,Hu Fang-ping supported Zhu Xi’s arguments on the sources of painting trigrams,but gave a different understanding of the process of painting trigrams.He reconciled the Si Xiang Theory of Shao Yong and Zhu Xi,but more highly praised Zhu Xi’s views.Secondly,Hu Fang-ping’s interpretation of the sentence "counting the past shows the clockwise rotation,foreseeing the future shows the anticlockwise rotation" describing the Priori Map was basically in accordance with the original meaning of Zhu Xi;For the sentence "The Yang is retrograde in the Yin,and the Yin is retrograde in the Yin;The Yang is anterograde in the Yang,and the Yin is anterograde in the Yin",Hu Fang-ping explained from the new angle of twelve Xiao Xi trigrams.For arguments of the Qi of trigrams,Hu Fang-ping painted The Map of the Qi of Round Fu Xi’s Sixty-four Trigrams to explain "Fu Xi Statements" mentioned by Zhu Xi.Then he explained the winning and shrinking phenomenon of the Qi of trigrams on the particularity of the structure of Kan and Li.Thirdly,through explanations of relationships between Li,Tai Chi,and the heart and through the analysis of the thought of respecting the Yang and belittling the Yin,Hu Fang-ping transformed Shao Yong’s philosophy system and made it fully governed by super-organic Li of Taiji Yin-yang.Finally,Hu Fang-ping revealed that the common point of The Map of Fu Xi Eight Trigrams and The Map of Wen Wang Eight Trigrams is the thought of respecting the Yang and belittling the Yin,communicating the Priori Map with the Postnatal Map,realizing the consistency expression of the Li which Zhu Xi pursued.In the third chapter,the author examines the Great Expansions Theory and some specific rules on the Bianzhan Theory all proposed by Hu Fang-ping,from the point of the numbers’ origin and of the numbers’ use,clearing the idea that "Yi-ology benefits all sentient beings".First of all,Hu Fang-ping painted a map to prove the rationality of hanging one yarrow in every stage of the Great Expansions process.Secondly,Hu Fang-ping explained the origin of the number six to nine by replacing Zhu Xi’s abstract numbers with specific numbers of yarrow.Thirdly,Hu Fang-ping revealed the thought of respecting the Yang and belittling the Yin in the number of hanging and rubbing yarrow,six to nine,and the number of remaining yarrow.Then he revealed the fact that the Changing numbers correspond to the images of eight trigrams.Finally,Hu Fang-ping supplemented the deficiencies of Zhu Xi’s Bianzhan rules with selecting images and revealed the principle of Priori Yi-ology in the Bianzhan Map,inheriting Zhu Xi’s pursuit of "the only Li".The fourth chapter is about the evaluations of Hu Fang-ping’s thought,and revealed the main theoretical contributions of Hu Fang-ping in three aspects:First of all,Hu Fang-ping,with a high degree of academic awareness,following the course of"images root in the River Map and the Luo Chart","images can be showed in trigrams","numbers origin from deducing Yarrow","numbers aim at Bianzhan",accepting and developing Zhu Xi’s thought,interpreted arguments of the River Map and the Luo Chart,of the Priori and Postnatal image-numberology,of the divination method,so as to make the goal and meaning of the Enlightenment on Yi-ology more present.Secondly,the appearance of The Explanation of the Enlightenment on Yi-ology revised many fallacies in the spread of Zhu Xi’s Yi-ology in the Song and Yuan Dynasty,and made great contributions to the determination of Zhu Xi’s Yi-ology.Finally,Hu Fang-ping’s method of inheritance and creation had a great influence on later scholars,especially the Hu Yi-gui.Hu Fang-ping and Hu Yi-gui have made great contributions to the research of Zhu Xi’s image-numberology. |
