| In the 19 th century,Van Gogh painted the peasants at the bottom,the sky and stars,wheat fields and close relatives and friends.At the beginning,more emphasis on simple color and painting while in the later period,splendid color was used more.Throughout all his life,the amount and speed of painting is beyond our imagination.Among them,paintings of the image of the bottom ordinary peasants were his important early works whose color was strong and characters were vivid.In the 20 th century,British artist Freud devoted all his life to portrait creation.Most of the models were his acquaintance.In his paintings,he used strong brush strokes to depict the subjects sensitively and delicately.The two artists are different from traditional ones and use their own languages to express their objects.This article studies the van Gogh and Freud’s ordinary people’s image and explores its artistic charm and value.Specifically speaking,it is through the analysis of the works of the two artists to study how the artistic characteristics of their “direct expression” are displayed and presented one by one in their creative process. |
