A Syntactic And Semantic Approach To “V+NP1+NP2” In Modern Chinese

"V+NP1+NP2" is a common V+N form in Chinese.In the past,the research on this object mostly focused on double-object structure.However,this word sequence is not only a double-object structure type.We choose the same words arrangement sequence "V+NP1+NP2" as the research object in this paper.We will make a detailed survey about the structure types covered by the sequence "V+NP1+NP2".To comb its structure types and discuss Syntactic and semantic problems of class structure.On this basis,we introduce the theory of physical properties to analyze the physical properties of each sub-category of "V+NP1+NP2" and to clear the internal polygamy in order to have a deeper understanding of the relationship between dynamic and nominal.The full text is divided into five chapters.The first chapter introduces the origin and significance of the research,combs the related research of "V+NP1+NP2" in the academic circle,and introduces the theoretical basis,research methods and sources of corpus.The second chapter aims to describe the structure type of"V+NP1+NP2".Combining characteristics in"V+NP1+NP2"formal and the syntactic and semantic relationships between the verbs and the two nominal components.This paper classifies them into six categories:C1.“给他三本书”;C2.“偷他三本书”;C3.“训了半天小李”;C4.“编选论文48篇”;C5.“拜访旧友吴敬琏”;C6.“喜欢他大眼睛”。Syntactically,these six types of structures are attributed to Double-object(C1,C2),Verb-complement-object(C3),single-object(C4,C5,C6A)and pivotal construction(C6B).Semantically,C1 focuses on the realization of affiliation,C2 main affiliation are relieved or impaired,C3 emphasizes the timeliness of the action behavior,C4,C5events are strong,verb semantics of C6A are not described as events,and the C6B cause justice is strong.In addition,taking into consideration pragmatic factors,we consider the C3 as variants of the“V+数量名”respectively.Both variants are Pragmatic variability structure formed in order to strengthen pragmatic focus.Chapter 3 discusses "V+NP1+NP2" from the perspective of transitivity.From three aspects of verbs,objects and constructions,we measured the transitivity parameters of the “V+NP1+NP2” sub-categories,and found that the C1 has the highest transitivity and is most suitable as prototype structure type “V+NP1+NP2”."Realization of affiliation " is best suited as prototype.The other types of structures deviate from the prototype to a certain extent.Among them,C6 the lowest transitivity is the most untypical members of the entire continuum.Chapter 4 examines the internal polysemy of "V+NP1+NP2".The polysemy in "V+NP1+NP2" includes constructional polysemy and constructional homonymy.The reasons for polysemy are mainly one word polysemy,class-bestriding of words,"NP1" virtual referents and real referents,and the isomorphism of different subordinate relations and the isomorphism of different syntactic structures.Changes,additions,and other methods are effective ways to differentiate such polysemy.The fifth chapter concludes with a summary of the issues discussed in this article.The author indicates the shortcomings of this dissertation and needs further study.
