This is a practice report on simulated C-E consecutive interpretation on the documentary Changbai Mountains.Three episodes were excerpted from documentary. They are about the development history of Changbai Mountains, including the exploration, geographical environment and natural resources of Changbai Mountains. This practice report mainly studies the disfluency during interpretation which refers to the output lacking smoothness or uniformity.Fluency is always an important standard of interpreting quality.Based on the performance of the interpreting practice and Professor Daniel Gile’s Effort Model, the writer makes a research on disfluency. With the analysis of the practice record, the writer concludes three causes which lead to disfluency,i.e.short-term memory,note-taking and linguistic competence factors.According to the three causes, the writer puts forward relevant solutions, such as improving information chunking, simplifying structure and symbol, and strengthening retelling. The report focuses on the reasons and solutions of difluency problem so that the problem can be solved and the interpreting quality is to be improved. The writer hopes the report on disfluency problem can provide positive support for future practice and offer useful reference to other interpreters.
