| Reading is an important channel for absorbing human knowledge,culture and civilization.Reading teaching plays an important role in Chinese foreign language teaching.In recent years,English reading teaching in primary and secondary schools has aroused widespread concern in the education field.Activities are the basic organizational form of English classroom teaching,and they are the key ways to change teaching methods.In order to enable students to have better reading ability,teachers need to carry out a series of effective classroom activities when they are teaching reading.The quality of English reading classroom activities affects learners’ reading literacy and self-learning ability.It is a non-negligible content in classroom reading teaching.However,in the process of current English reading teaching of senior high school,although classroom activities are applied as an important teaching method,there are still many problems.This thesis focuses on the use of questionnaires,interviews,and classroom observations to conduct study of English teachers and students from first grade in Neixiang Senior High School.The research questions include the following three:(1)What is the situation of design,implementation,and evaluation of English reading classroom activities?(2)What are the problems in the course of running English reading classroom activities?(3)What measures can be taken to improve the existing problems? According to classroom observation and survey interview results,it finds that the current English reading classroom activities of senior high school have the following problems:(1)Classroom activities are inconsistent and single in design;activity content and teaching objectives are deviated;(2)The allocation of activity time is not reasonable;the interaction between teachers and students is not very good;(3)Classroom activities are evaluated at a low frequency and the evaluation methods are monotonous.At last,the thesis proposes corresponding improvement strategies and suggestions based on the existing problems from teachers and students,in order to promote the effective implementation of classroom activities in senior high school English reading classes,improve students’ reading efficiency and ability,lay a foundation for cultivating students’ core qualities of English discipline. |
