At present,there are more and more Chinese learners.Chinese characters as Chinese writing symbol are regarded as the most difficult part by most foreign students,especially for those students who from the Non-Chinese Character Cultural Sphere.In their opinion,there are too many characters with complicated strokes,various structure,and rich meaning.In addition,it’s difficult to understand Chinese characters.This paper takes the two primary textbooks——"Developing Chinese" and "The Road to Success" as the objects of study.By means of statistics and comparative analysis,the paper compares the Chinese characters,the knowledge of Chinese characters and the exercises of Chinese characters,to inspect and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of two sets of teaching materials in the compilation of Chinese characters,sums up their experiences and provides useful references for the preparation of Chinese characters in the textbooks of elementary Chinese as a foreign language in the future.The main body of the paper consists of five parts:The first part is the introduction,introduces the research background,research significance and research status of this topic,explains the research objects and reasons,and research methods of this topic.The second part compares the selection of two sets of textbooks,mainly conducts research and analysis on the following five aspects:the amount of Chinese characters,the distribution of Chinese characters,the commonality of Chinese characters,the classification of Chinese characters,and the link between Chinese characters and the text in each lesson.The third part is to compare the content of Chinese characters knowledge of two sets of textbooks,including five aspects:strokes,stroke order,basic structure,radical,and component combination of Chinese characters.Mainly to analyze the specific content of each point of knowledge.The fourth part is to compare the exercises of Chinese characters in two sets of teaching materials,conducting statistical analysis from the three aspects of number of exercise,type of exercise,content of exercise.And giving some examples of some exercises to analyze the rationality of practice of Chinese characters practice,pointing out Point out its advantages and disadvantages.The fifth part analyzes and discusses the writing of Chinese characters in two sets of textbooks,summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of the writing of Chinese characters in the two sets of textbooks,so that relevant suggestions for the Chinese character composing part of the preliminary comprehensive Chinese textbooks will be proposed.
