| France,a country with a long history of immigrants,has experienced several major waves of immigration since 19th century.France has become a country with a large immigrant population.Since World War II,the influx of immigrants and the social integration of immigrants have led to the migration problem of France in 70s,and the problem became more and more serious after the oil crisis.The France government adjusts immigration policy in different period to adapt to the necessary of itself according to the interests of France.This paper mainly gives an account of the immigration policy and its influence implemented by the five presidents of France since 1970s.The immigration policy of France has experienced the tightening of immigration control,the coexistence of"moderate" and "tough" lines,the strengthening of immigration control,Selective immigration,and the adjustment under immigration policy.Although immigration policy alleviates the immigration problem to some extent.However,France has not found a radical solution to the problem of French immigration in the course of the reform and exploration of immigration policy for more than 40 years.In addition to the French"Republican assimilation" model,the evolution of French immigration policy is influenced by the labor force,political interests,national security,cultural differences and many other factors.And the ultimate transformation of immigration policy to the selective migration policy is still rooted in the national interest.The change of national economic strength is the leading factor influencing the evolution of immigration policy.Based on the term of office of the President,this paper provides a general review of the French immigration policy since 1970s,and then considers the problems and difficulties that France’s immigration policy faces in the course of its formulation and implementation.It reveals the influence of French immigration policy on the occurrence,development,integration and governance of immigration,and we will get some enlightenment of Chinese immigration management. |
